 Hi All-

Just wondering if anyone else has had trouble after stopping the Aromatase Inhibitor therapy? I was on Arimidex for 5 years and tolerated it well, then Femara for 3 years. I just had a tumor removed from my humerus, and thank God it was benign. A bone marrow biopsy was clear, so I was told I could stop the Femara. I am 53, and now again with a vengence, the hot flashes. I also have had a headache, from the moment I wake up to when I go to sleep. Has anyone else experienced this? I was wondering if the adrenals/ovaries are producing estrogen again, and maybe hence the headache. I am glad to be off of the drug, but I also don't want a headache, or to much estrogen! Thanks for your input!

Hi Roseanne.  Glad to hear that your tumor was benign.

I went off Arimidex after 10 months due to the side effects.  A week or so after, I developed severe labile hypertension and was placed on extra anti-hypertensives.  I am now off of most of them and my BP is now normal.  My cardiologist said that the Arimidex most likely was the cause.  Your body reacts when you go off medications, no matter what the medication is.

Good luck!
