Well, now I am nervous again -- what's new -- every time I get a pain, right?
Now I have this stange pain on my left side -- it is just below the ribs and feels sort of achy - my abdomen also hurts on the left side - on and off -- sort of a shooting pain -- feel like I've been zapped and then it goes away.
Sometimes it doesn't hurt at all. I can poke and prod and that doesn't really hurt either, but sometimes just touching the skin hurts. So, I was thinking shngles -- I think that I have already had them once on my other side.
Went to doctor (PCP) and he said he couldn't diagnose shingles definitively because there is really no rash -- just one red spot. Also, he said most people don't get shingles more than once, but I had chicken pox twice, so who knows? He did offer to treat me for shingles, but I think I would rather know if I have them or not -- or is it something worse?
Have had pain for about five days -- sometimes I don't even notice it -- tylenol does help. Don't see my onc for another week, so the waiting is driving me crazy. Was supposed to go today, but my appt. got bumped out.
Anyone else have shingles? Without a rash? What did it feel like? Gettng nervous since this is a strange pain that I have not had before.

HI. Just to let you know I've had shingles 3 times. Once when I was 11 years old on R side of abdomen. Then just before dx with BC same area. And again a few months ago on R side of forehead by my eye. My last bout of it was the most uncomfortable. Burning shooting pain. Wendy blessings and love to all my sisters here!
Diagnosis: IDC, 3cm, Stage IIIa, Grade 3, 4/9 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

Oh, that's great! I had shingles a few years ago. My primary said I could have the vaccine. I declined telling her I already had shingles. I don't know much about the vaccine. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference

Well, I still don't know what I have....still have pain on left side -- less shooting and more achey. Have three more blisters/spots -- I still think it might be shingles and I don't want to think about alternatives. I am going to have to call the doctor again tomorrow and see what they say. |
