I haven't posted in a long time. Had MRI on rt hip Tuesday. Had been having pain in that area for a few months. I thought I had twisted my leg while playing soccer with my grandson in July. Took Mobic...seemed to calm it down....thought I was fine. Dr (ortho surgeon) said MRI did not look good and I needed to see my oncologist next Tuesday.
I feel like I did 9 years ago when I was told I had BC. Sitting here...afraid to move. Fear of the unknown. I don't know what TO DO.....or what NOT TO DO.
Thanks....Kay (One of the Carolina girls 2003)

MKL, of course you are afraid. Any bone ache or pain, we immediately think of cancer. Take a deep breath and try your best to enjoy the weekend. The best advice I can give is stay busy until Tuesday. Do things you love and be with people you love. Did your ortho offer any kind of diagnosis? It could be anything. I will be thinking of you. Maryiz |

Oh, Kay, you are in my prayers. I can only imagine what you're going through. I hope that you'll have good news on Tuesday and that you'll be able to enjoy the wonderful weather this weekend. Please keep us posted. I'm sending positive thoughts your way. Be kind to everyone - for everyone is fighting some sort of battle.

Hi Maryiz...thanks for your response. Dr Chiavetta only said it might be coming from the BC dx. and that I needed to see my oncologist. I thought it would be something he could help....I really thought I had torn a tendon or something like that. Right now, it doesn't hurt. He gave me Mobic which I have been taking and I'm sure that has eased the inflammation. He threw me a curve when he mentioned oncologist. Thank you Carolinachick...thank you for your warm thoughts. My daughter lives in Charlotte Thank you Gitane for your warm hugs. |

MKL, I hope your reults are good ones. I have been experiencing left hip pain for 3 1/2 months. I am having a hip replacement in Dec. The first ortho surgeon I went to kept sending me back to my onc. My onc was getting upset cause he said all looked ok. He told me to go to another surgeon. I did. Hence, hip replacement. I hope for good results for you. I will peek back in to see how you are. Good friends are like stars....you don't always see them but you know they are always there.

Hi Candie MRI shows lesion of the right superior pubic ramus. Had biopsy and ct scan last Friday and total bone scan this past Monday. Now I am doing that awful "waiting game" we all do waiting for the results. I have been in a daze for weeks now. Hopefully they wll let me know something today. I want to know and I don't want to know. But I'll go crazy until I find out what do I do now? I'm not in alot of pain from this. I really thought my pain was something to do with my hip or pulling a muscle or pulling a tendon or or or or or or anything but cancer. From the MRI IMPRESSION: Aggressive appearing 6.5 cm osseous lesion replacing the entirety of the right superior pubic ramus. Please note discussion. Considerations include a metastatic lesion, plasmacytoma, or a primary bone neoplasm. I'm scared out of my mind!!!!!!! |

Hi Kay, I just saw your post and am sorry you're in the "waiting area" too! I've had a suspicious bone scan, inconclusive mri and now go for a pet scan next Monday:( Like you, I don't have much pain, just a dull ache but I can really relate to just wanting to know. I feel I've been in Limbo for weeks with this and now feel, even knowing would be better than not. I'll be keeping all good thoughts for both of us, hang tight.....xx Tricia Tricia
