I had bone cancer 32 years ago and big gun chemo (is there any other kind) at age 16...now the breast cancer recurred 4 1/2 years after dx and I had a mastectomy and awaiting chemo...I'm so scared...isn't once in a lifetime enough?

Did you have rads with the first BC? You may..depending on the pathology of the tumor, be able to get away with some surgery and radiation only. Lets hope! Take a deep breathe. I had a recurrence in the same place and when first diagnosed. First did the "big gun chemo". I was given CMF for the recurrence. A very doable cocktail. SE were minimal and one plus is I didn't loose my hair. Diagnosis: 2/26/2007, IDC, 2cm, Grade 3, 0/7 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2+ |
