There are so many treatments available for mets now! I like to count how many chemos alone are available (I think I counted 14 - I had an Ativan that night so the memory is fuzzy). And, you are hormone receptor positive, so you get the additional benefit of antihormonal medications.

I won't lie to you - this is not an easy diagnosis. But, with treatment, we metsters can have years of quality life.

If you feel like you can't cope with this, please ask your doctor for some anti-depressants to help you over the hump. Many of us have really benefited from them. Who needs them more than we do, right?

Talk to us. Let us know what you are thinking. We really care, and are interested in your hopes and fears, your treatment plans, your concerns for the future. Keep in mind, we HAVE a future!

I have liver mets and can honestly say that my QOL is great, I have responded well to tx (with few SEs) and the measureable mets have decreased in number. (started with 8, now only see 5). There is definitely hope!

Come to the stage IV forum - lots of wonderful support and information there. Lots of metsters who have been here for many years, some who have actually reached NED status (no evidence of disease).
