As I finished up my reconstruction after BC I started thinking about what this site, and all the inspiring women on it, had meant to me the past 6 months.  I discovered this amazing place shortly after my BMX and it has become an important part of my life ever since.  It's been my lifeline, best friend, therapist, library, pen pal, comic relief and so much more.  So I started thinking- what is this site worth to me?  What is it worth to you? How many of you realize that this site is a non-profit organization that relies on donations from corporations as well as individuals like ourselves?

So after reading that there are over 76,000 members on here I was wondering-

What if each of us (if able) donated just a $1.00 (or more) to show our appreciation for this incredible cyber sanctuary?

I am not affiliated with BCO in any way, shape or form but will be forever grateful that this site was here at a time when I needed it most.  And I hope it will be there for all the women in the future until someone finds a cure for BC and makes its use obsolete.  I think together we can create an amazing gift to show our gratitude and to "pay it forward" to other women as well.

So I will be making a donation and if you're interested in helping out, too, here is the link to the page that explains everything-

secure3.convio.net/bco/site/SP...

There are different categories highlighted in purple that you can choose from-

"General Donations", "Honor a Loved One", "Remember a Loved One" and "PayPal".

Thank you!

I just made my donation. I've been a member for ages, and I'm ashamed I haven't done it before this. Thank you, Kate33. This site has been a lifeline to me.

Grannydukes, I hear you loud and clear about your concern for our sisters who have limited resources. I hhope they can tap into some local funding somewhere. I also support a local non-profit whose foundation gives grants to women who need cancer rehab services like exercise and lymphedema treatments. I feel we should all support monetarily on our local level in hope of helping those who will directly benefit.

Kate:  I agree with you!  What a fabulous challenge!  I am going to donate right now!  BCO has been an amazing refuge for me and it is a diamond in the rough.  I honestly wish there were ten times as many women coming to this website for solace, encouragement and information.  Thank you Kate for suggesting this!!

Hi whippetmom,

I was able to use my check card, VIS debit.  I have no credit left to my name, but this was an automatic withdrawal from my account.  I hope this also offers an option. Plus another excuse to bump the thread :)
