Five years ago when I had round 1 with breast cancer, I remember seeing an online resource, some kind of private blog, that you could post updates about treatments. It was private but friends and family could subscribe and would get an email when there was a new post up. This way I don't have to send a mass email to the dozens of family and friends who want to know what I'm doing, but I can let people who are interested opt in, and they will automatically be notified of an update. Now that I've been diagnosed with mets to the bone, I want to keep people updated, but definitely want it private and not google-able on the internet.
I've been googling around to try to find it but have come up empty handed. Can someone point me in the right direction if this thing still exists?
Many thanks!
Orchid

I am going to start one on www.carepages.com I know several people who have used it and it worked well in keeping people informed. They can also leave you notes that you can read at your leisure. Good luck. Diagnosis: 10/15/2009, ILC |

You can put up to 20 people in a facebook friends group and then send a private message to the group....it's not perfect but it's a really good way to keep a group that size up to date. |

I used www.caringbridge.org My friends and family loved being able to keep in touch without feeling like they were intruding. They left me "guest messages" and their words, support and prayers were such a lift. On the day of surgery, my daughter's texted my friend who was on "journal update duty" and she updated my journal to let everyone know what was happening. I wrote a lot of pages and I had over 1500 hits in two months. Before I discovered this site people were emailing and calling us non stop to find out what was happening. DH felt like he was repeating the same story over and over and over again. Caringbridge was such a blessing. And, I tried to google my name just to see if it would direct me to the site, but it didn't. Nice to know it also provided privacy.
