I have looked at several websites: Josephine Ford Cancer Institute at Henry Ford Health System, The Multidisciplinary Breast Care Clinic at U-Michigan comprehensive cancer center, Beaumont Cancer Center of Excellence, Karmanos Cancer Center at Wayne State University. But I couldn't find any comparison or any site that provides information from people who used them. There is another place for breast cancer in SE Michigan, the St. Joe's Mercy Hospital. I hope some of you may have some answers.

Oncs whose nursing and other staff include a significant number of those who have had breast cancer, and/or who have been through treatment personally, and who are not young people with lots of estrogen (and lots of sprightly inexperienced advice for us older folks) get my vote....

I live in Ohio and chose to go to University of Michigan Breast Care Clinic last October, 2011. I cannot say enough good about them, their treatment of me, my Breast Surgeon, My Oncologist, my nurse practitioner, my chemo nurses, the blood people, I LOVE thEM ALL!! I was diagnosed Stage 3 - just completed 5 months of Chemo. I will be doing radiation locally as it is over an hour drive for me.

I chose to go to Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit, MI. I had a very good experience there. A friend of mine chose U of M in Ann Arbor. She would recommend that hospital to anyone. Another friend of mine had very good care at Beaumont Hospital. All of these are very good hospitals for breast cancer.

I was just diagnosed at UofM, the local hosp. missed it. I've been really happy so far with everyone I've had contact with there. I drive 3 hrs. each way. I wouldn't if I didn't think it was worth it.
Good luck to you!
