I'm due for my sixth and last chemo cycle this week. I've had one period during chemo, but now seem to be in chemopause, as I have started having really narly hot flashes. Any one else experience hot flashes on chemo? If so, did your period come back after treatment ended?

I also experienced some hot flashes during chemo (4 rounds of AC + 4 rounds of Taxol), mostly at night. My period did eventually come back, about 7 months after I ended chemo. |

I to have the hot flashes I get them all through out the day seems worse since I started Taxol. I have one more treatment of Taxol and then I'm done moving on to 6 weeks of radiation. |

Thanks, girls. Appreciate it. Sure hope these things are temporary--I must wake up six times a night, feeling like I'm on fire. Then it's followed by cold chills. It's ridiculous, as well as being about twenty years too early. ![]() Dx June 2007, age 38, Stage IIa 2.7 cm pleomorphic ILC, ER+/PR+ HER2-, CAFx6, rads, tamox

Hi Nash, I'm 31, dx with ILC in Feb 2007. Had 3 x CEF and 3 x Taxotere. I too went into chemopause, and experienced those nasty hot-flashes. Worse even, it was winter over here, so I went from looking like an eskimo, to taking everything off, to putting it back on, all in the space of 5 mins! Hehe, it must have looked funny to all the guys I work with... My period did come back about a month after I finished with tx. I started Tamoxifen a month ago, so it has stopped again. AND the hot-flashes and night-sweats have started again. Aargh!!! Looking on the bright side: if I go through this now, I wont need to go through it later! Have a blessed day, Janine |
