last night i had sudden onset stabbing breast pain which kept me awake all night. i still have the pain tonite in the lower right quandrant of my boob. there is no lump, just pain. i saw my onc today for a different reason and we talked about the pain, i have to go back in a week for another evaluation. if my arm rubs against my boob i wince in pain. it's not infected and at this point it does not look like i have shingles. has anyone had this experience before, if yes what was it? thanks!

What happened with this? Are you still in pain?
I had a random weekend of pain a few months ago and i freaked out, almost went to the ER but it went away the next week. I hope yours does too!

melinda, nice to see your smiling face! i went to the onc b/c after massaging the area i broke out in petechiae and i thought my platelets were low and needed a transfusion. numbers are fine, no transfusion needed. talked about the pain, plan was if it is still there in a week (tomorrow), we were going to start a work up. i cancelled my appt for tomorrow because the pain is better, my boob still hurts but its not as bad as it was. the stabbing pain is gone, now i just have a sore boob. i think my onc is jumping the gun starting a work up after a week of pain so i am going to hold off a few more weeks. if the pain is still here in three weeks i will start the work up.
see you in philly!

Is it swollen? Pink or red? Could possibly be cellulitis or lymphedema. LE & cellulitis can cause pain. Hopefully the doctor will help you figure it out. NJ
