The VA are such SOB's to deal with.  The owner of the homecare I have which the VA pays for 20 hours per week called me and said my Dad's contract was up May 3rd.  She made some phone calls and it looks like records from the Fitchburg VA Clinic went to the North Hampton VA in Leeds, MA.  WTF.  I don't know what that has to do with the contract but she is stating that she was told it may take a few months.  I worked so hard to get him VA approved for homecare now I get kicked in the ass. So she is going to start billing my Dad for her services.  All she does is complain on how much work it is for them and it takes 2 of the nurses to get him into the shower and he is always soaked with urine and sometimes the other, complaining about the other CNA nurses in the assisted living about them not doing their job in helping my Dad, it is beginning to stress me out.  Didn't sleep well last night, made a few phone calls from work which I am not suppose to because I am the front desk receptionist and it is frowned on taking personal calls but I really don't have a choice.  Time for a happy pill  and a sleeping pill.Yell

I dont blame you Meece.  I stay up till about 11 because the kids keep me up.  Then I have to get up at 5:45 and I'm tired.

Crappy day again.  Rain, rain, go away!
Had 13,000 gallons of water delivered yesterday for 450.00 for the pool.  Must have a leak because about 5,000 gallons are in my back yard!  UGH!

We get up just before 5 and I am out the door by 7.  Without kids at home, I can get to sleep whenever I feel like it in most cases.

You have to have your water delivered for pools?  We have a pond and change out about 1 k gallons each week.  We are on a flat rate meter for now so it doesn't affect our bill.  The new pond will be larger and unfortunatelythey are talking about putting us on usage meters.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Having beautiful days of mid 80s weather.  We would like a bit of rain.

Sorry about all the problems with the VA, ((((((Deb)))))))

Now DD has a cold.  They rescheduled the track meet until tomorrow.  Now she really won't run well.  I just hope she didn't give her cold to all her grandparents this past weekend.  And she's supposed to have a dentist appt today.  Hope she's not still coughing for that.  Not sure how that will work.  Can't sit there coughing in the hygeinist's face the whole time...  If post nasal drip is causing her cough and the Sudafed helps, maybe she'll be ok.  If it's not one thing, it's another...

Hi Meece.

My kids keep me up too.  I often get sleepy when they are still up and then get a second wind so that I'm not sleepy when I can go to bed.  Then I stay awake watching a recorded tv show.  I SHOULD just try to go to sleep even though I don't feel sleepy, but I'm stupid and often stay up too late.  And I wonder why I'm a zombie.

Hi, Chris.  When DH and I stay up and watch TV in the family room I will fall asleep and then walking back to the bedroom wakes me up enough to make it difficult to go back to sleep.  So when I can, I just head to bed to watch tv.

I fall asleep watching tv at night as well, so started watching in bed.   I am such a light sleeper that when DH turns the tv off, I wake up.  He says sometimes I am sleeping with a death grip on the remote.....

Came back from the cabin yesterday, 82 degrees - just perfect.  DH made dinner - veggie burgers and salad.  I looked at the salad and had to ask where he came up with it.  It had cucumbers, avocado, raspberries, honeydew, radishes and garbanzo beans and no dressing.  He said he decided to pretend he was on Chopped and had been given the basket of ingredients.  It was a weird salad but so nice that he did it.

Back east, you have what we called steak tips or sirloin tips. That is not a cut we can find here but really craving those.  My father-in-law brought me lots of haddock for which I am very grateful.  Miss that too.

lol - maybe I'll warn my kids that they'd better enjoy the haddock now because later if they move to the west coast they won't be able to get any!  They'll probably say they want to move to the west coast now just to get away from the fish I've been trying to feed them lately.

I live in the sticks, Meece.  I have a well.  It takes forever to fill a pool with a well.  The well runs dry then you have to wait several hours for the water to come back.

Never complain when DH makes anything, it's one less thing you have to make.  My DH couldn't make a salad!

Hope DD is feeling better, Chris.

I think it's crazy we don't have those things.  They try to sell  me on cod, which is fine, but it's not haddock.  I wish I could understand why we can't have steak tips.  Next time I am there I am going to find me a butcher who can tell me where they are located and then instruct butcher here.

There was so much of his special salad left, that I very thoughtfully drove it to his office for his lunch.  :)

Many restaurants around here serve beef tips and egg noodles.  They're dellish!  I usually buy my tenderloin whole and the end of the tenderloin is the tips.  I save the ips for using in fondue and for stews and such.  Very tender and tasty.

Meece and Sheila - I love the big sea scallops.  I do them in a saute pan with a bit of olive oil - fast and furious.

Makratz - I'll trade you :) I also enjoy cod, often, but still want haddock more.

Meece -  I'd have to be buying a whole lot of whole tenderloin to acquire enough tips if using the ends only.  I am wondering if they just cut a whole tenderloin into "bites" or "tips".
