I've been having severe night sweats since about a month before my BC diagnosis.  I still get them, but no one knows whats causing them.

4lumps,   Welcome to BC.org discussions

How old are you?  It could be that you are into MENOPAUSE dear sister....Some people have night sweats and some have the flashes day and night.  I have the day and night flashes.  I am on  medication to help keep them bearable.

edited to add:  I just went to your profile and since you are only 31 I don't think you would be in menopause yet.  Have you had a hysterectomy?

Don't deny the diagnosis, but defy the verdict.........

No, I haven't had a hysterectomy.  Its funny that last night was the first night in over a month that I didn't sweat, and yesterday I had my Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy. (they took out 3 nodes on each side).    I wonder if the night sweats had something to do with the lymph nodes.  I guess I'll see how it goes tonight

4lumps,

Could it be related to medication?

Also, even if you are too young for menopause and haven't had a hysterectomy you could be perimenopausal as much as 10 years before actual menopause.

I was worried about nights sweats as well and it was related to one of my medications.  As soon as it was discontinued...no more night sweats!

It's a very difficult thing to pin point. I have had night sweats for years. Never any explanation for it. Hopefully yours are gone :)

Hi Ladies,

I thought they were gone, but they're not. Frown No I wasn't on any medication when they first started, and I hope I'm not premenopausal. I think I have enough going on right now.
