Hi Everyone,
I hope that I am not duplicating a topic already out there; I see lots of activity on NOLA, and DIEPs there in particular, but would like to connect with anyone that is having an SGAP in December, or had a flap reconstruction (at any point) with Dr. Flores at Johns Hopkins.
I have a bilateral SGAP scheduled with him on December 11. I had a bilateral mastectomy there on July 14, followed by chemo (carboplatin/taxotere) for T- recurrence of IDC, first treated w/lumpectomy, rads, and CMF 13 years ago.
I would love to hear from any of you, from either group!
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer and anyone else using Hopkins, Dr. Flores did not do my original surgery but he is pretty much doing a redo on me. I really like him and his staff and am hoping for a good outcome. Please let me here from anyone who has experience with him. Right now I am not finished and it is hard to know whether he will be able to fix everything from my messed up original surgery. Thank you, Ruthy |

I am having a unilateral diep 12/9 with Dr. Flores -- so I guess we will be there together. I had a left mx on 9/21 -- it was nipple sparing and Dr. Flores put in the expander. It really looks good so far and I really like him. Diagnosis: 5/26/2009, IDC, 1cm, Stage Ia, Grade 3, 0/3 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

Hi, Jennifer, I didn't go to Hopkins, but I had a bilateral SGAP with Dr. Massey in Charleston. I've posted a lot about that experience here, but if you need to, shoot me a pm, and I'll try to answer any questions you may have about the procedure and recovery.
