Hello all my crazy Canucks! Ladies....we need you all to put your names on our new role call list here. Being still a relative newcomer I feel it is important to be able to find other women from canada in one place. For newcomers it is somewhere they can come to find someone they need to ask a made in canada only question. Our Canadian threads are getting old and tired and seldom used so we are all scattered, hopefully we can start some new ones especially for resources that we may need or are looking for. This is the kind of info we are lacking and really need. So can we rise to the challenge and join hands coast to coast to share our wealth of knowledge to pass on to others and share??? This thread will be our role call, so join me and take my hand.

Oh dear - I was just telling myself how much I appreciate electricity on a day like this. There is just one room air conditioner, a bunch of fans all around and a dehumidifier in the basement to keep this old house comfortable. If it quits I might have to fill up the children's splash pool and sit in it all day.
Poor plants in the backyard complained that I hadn't been out to water them lately. Sorry plants.

Couldn't even tell you the temp today. I haven't been outside in 3 or 4 days and we have the AC on. I HATE humidity!!! My DH is a marshall on the golf course we live on and this morning 8 GROUPS canceled their golf games today!! That's 32 people!!! It never rains on a golf course, apparently, so I had no idea it got too hot, as well.

We golfed in Las Vegas where carts are mandatory, no alcohol on the course and they drove around giving everyone large, x-large, I mean BIG styrofoam cups of ice and water. They have to do this. Bought DH a T-shirt with a skeleton taking a swing with a golf club; shirt says - "But it's a DRY heat!" That was years ago of course, but I didn't like the heat there either!

Thank you ladies you are much to kind.. I am not one who likes having my picture taken, but knowing how much it helped me looking at BC gals getting their hair back when I did not have any hair made me realize I need to do the same for those of you now waiting for hair growth.. Mine is growing super slow as I am on Herceptin only four more treatments then hopefully my hair will start growing faster.. Hair dresser suggested I start using Nioxin Diamax ( I am already using Nioxin shampoo and Conditioner as well as scalp therapy) Was told to use Diamax daily and in twelve days my hair should look fuller (guaranteed) was quite pricey,,($41.00 in Canada) but I will try anything Iwill keep you posted

It IS sunny here in BC now, and I'm stuck in a dark room with the A/C on -- I feel like a vampire! Still in lots of pain, which sucks because I do have a high pain threshold. Oh well, so many others have it worse. My husband is doing a great job of taking care of me. He's more exhausted than I am :)

hi gals & gals.. heat & heat.. where's the A/C?? so sorry to hear though about Ontario.. how hot it is there and the power outages! it's 25 in the house, and I can handle about 22 lol. I think I cry about 30 though. in a few days.. going to get a a/c. have a portable, a swamp cooler & 4 fans. 1000sq ft. they just don't cut it enough.
But we've wanted the summer for quite sometime,. then complain when it's so hot. why won't the weather listen to us and give us the numbers we want...lol
wee update: nothings changed in my infection, is still green (prayin the green goes away.. can't believe a week on Vancomyacin (big doses) it's still there, lots of purple around the wounds too
:( but... there will be an end to it at some point. hoping your all doing ok, one moment at a time in some cases.

Still in lots of pain (pain meds aren't strong enough and I can't get an upgrade until tomorrow) so I'm just lying low. The home nurse came today and changed all the dressings. It's a good service, but she would NOT stop talking! She talked for an hour and I finally told her I had to go lie down!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine (or surviving the heat, depending on your location)...
