I've been trying to find out what drugs are covered by OHIP. Are gemzar and naveline covered? I'm a bit worried if I don't have private insurance and these drugs aren't available. I've visited cancer.ca and I couldn't find any information on them.
Thanks!
Elizabeth

As a general rule, if get it in a hospital, OHIP covers it. If it is a pill or an injection you get at home, then it isn't covered. I don't know those drugs so I can't say. The onc. that will be treating you in Canada would know. And if it is an expensive drug there is always the Trillium fund. |

If you are getting anything through CCAC.... ask for an Ontario Drug Card.... solves a lot of drug payment issues Laugh until it really IS funny.

Thanks -- I'll look for info on CCAC. I have a lot of research to do before I get back in Ontario! Elizabeth's Mantra: When in doubt, eat cake.
