We are planning a get together for Ontario members.
Date: Sunday, August 9, 2009
Time: 2:00
Pace: Canyon Creek Restaurant (beside Vaughn Mills Mall)
These are the members planning to attend:
Barbe, BMac, Carolyn, crazydaisy, dreamwriter, hrf, Katalin, KerryMac, Kily, mke, mumayan, PIP, Sherry, thisisme.
Beesie will try to come. Konakat will be with us telepathically.
Edited to say that gibby will be unable to attend.
If anyone needs a ride, just ask. There are several of us willing and able to help.
Edited to add gigigigi (did I get enough 'gi's in there?) will be coming and lindasa would like to but is unable to this time.

I've been watching a bit of CNN tonight and just saw an anti-healthcare reform commercial featuring a supposed patient from Waterdown who claims she would have had to wait 6 months for a brain tumour operation, and would have died if she hadn't gone to the U.S. How does one fight that crap? I know FOR A FACT (having worked in hospitals for most of my working life) that this is most certainly not true. If her tumour was life-threatening, she would have been put at the top of the list. Wonder how much she was paid????? No wonder many folks are scared about reform if these are the kind of lies they're being fed. Nah, the procudure kind of screwed up. Too much pain and then back to the ER overnight as the stent slipped and then came out. They had no OR to put it back in as there was a bunch of car crashes and bar fights. So back home after 12 hours with more Demerol and Flowmax to flush the pipes. Not a happy camper right now! Barbe, so sorry that it did not go well. Is Mick out of there at least? Do you have to have the stent put back in? I do hope you will start to feel better very soon. This is my second trip through ... was first dx in Oct. 2004 and now have a second and totally different primary - Helen

Most of Mick is gone, but there are shards still left to pass. I don`t know if they`ll put the stent back in or not. The doc said to come back if 3 Demerol don`t cut the pain and they`d admit me. But what will they do there? Do I wait 12 more hours in the ER? He said he`d put a note in my file so I wouldn`t have to wait, but I don't know. Will I just come off as a whining bitch? Barbe, Whining bitch or not, pain is nothing to balk about. I've heard that passing kidney stones, or parts of them are the most painful thing one can experience. I also know that 3 demeral is alot of narcotics to be putting into your system at one time. Then there is the issue of the scar tissue. The last thing you want or need is another complication down the road that would cause another surgery that could cause more complications and so on..... I say go to the hospital and make your voice heard!! Dx 3/2007, IDC, 4cm, Stage IIIb, Grade 3, 23/23 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2- |

I just had an idea - anyone know how to do a video tape for u-tube? We could do one at our lunch and post it on u-tube as a sort of rebuttal to Shona, etc. Who knows, it might have an effect. I don't have a digital tape recorder. |

Oh Gibby, that's too bad. Your poor mom! The restaurant is on the south side of Vaughan Mills. There is a LaZBoy, Leons, Bassett Furniture, Brick mattress store and the restaurant is right beside Kroehler. You do NOT have to navigate the Vaughan Mills parking lot! There is tons of parking behind the restaurant, not in the front. Can't wait to meet y'all!! Papillary Carcinoma with ITCs and IMLN, Bilateral Mastectomy Dec 16th/08 No re-con. No foobies.

Hi ladies, sorry to report that I won't be able to make it tomorrow. I started rads on Thursday and sometime between then and last night I've picked up a bug. I feel like crap and the last thing I want to do is pass it on to any of you. So it's chicken soup, green tea and lots of tlc from my hubby. I really hate to miss out but i don't have the strength to do it. I'll be with you in spirit. Take pics. Cheers,Sherry Dx 3/2007, IDC, 4cm, Stage IIIb, Grade 3, 23/23 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2- |
