I was diagnosed with IDC on 9/18. Partial mastectomy on 9/25. I walk for about an hour day sometimes all at once other times two half hour walks with my dog. I'm not working and between the walks and the housework I find myself needing a nap even after sleeping 8-9 hours a night. My body just says stop. I haven't started radiation or tamoxifen yet. When does the tiredness end?

Your body has been through alot--- and still you have treatment.  A friend told me once that I should plan on at least one year from the surgery before I felt like myself--- and as I approach 1 year, I can tell you, she was right... another friend told me it would be a year after the end of treatment-- which for me would be May 2010--

I had a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation--- working fulltime with 2 young kids--- I was exhausted--- but I found after about 3 weeks after radiation, the tiredness started to lift- and I would say I am at about 90%--I exercise every day and tried to keep it up during treatment (was only moderately successful).

I looked at is as like when I had my babies--it took me a full year each time to get my groove back--my body was different, I was more tired, but I did get most of "me"back--and that is how this feels.

Ifound radiation to be the most tiring part--I think because it was daily and I did it each morning before work...

Be patient and kind to yourself.  Your body will tell you what it needs....

all the best
