on my 2nd recurrence (lymph nodes in chest and neck) Had one successful run with gemzar and carboplatin. Now , 7 months later white counts hit the deck after 1st treatment and i had to get a transfusion of platelets. I'm trying not to get discouraged but it's frustrating. I wish these cancer cells had arms and legs so i could kick the crap out of them. any helpful experience with transfisions out there?

I had transfusions twice, 2 units each time, both red and white cells had bottomed out. It was a real kick start for me, I felt better within hours. I don't know if that is helpful or not, but those transfusions sure helped me. Darn cancer is frustrating, we can't seem to out run it. |

Dear Cmf1, I hope you can get back on track with your treatments next week. I had to skip the week I was in the hospital getting my transfusions. Stay strong, Janice Sunbunny
