I have written a humorous cowboy love song about mastectomy called "I'm Gonna Love You Anyway". I wrote it for my friend Nancy who just had a double mastectomy, and who has a great sense of humor --she loved it! The song is meant to be loving, supporting, and healing, although it may not be for everyone, since I use several slang terms for breasts (in a humorous way, of course!). The song is on youtube at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9pPOEuZcM8

Clark: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my very own breast cancer song/tribute! Humor . . .as you know, I recognize it & it is what has sustained me throughout my life so far! This song totally cracks me up - makes me laugh every time I listen to it, and trust me, I've listened to it A LOT!! Just like Eric Clapton, I became "Unplugged" today (drain free, baby!!) - life is good. One more day, & your fabulous Deb will be home with you & the pooches - God bless you for your love and support, Clark - you're the BEST!!! Love, Nancy |

"I'm going to love you anyway"?? i find this an incredibly insensitive and condescending thing to say to a woman who has had a mastectomy. and to sing about "titties"? wow. awful. Age 54. IDC. I sincerely apologize for any offense my song has caused. The song was written with loving and humorous intent for my friend Nancy who loved it and found it to be healing. I knew this would not be the reaction of everybody, and said in my post that it would not be for everyone. Humor is one way that some people have of trying to cope with the tragedy of breast cancer and mastectomy. I'm sorry if this made anyone feel worse instead of better, and again I apologize, and wish you well. Clark Ford
