I am a 63 year old woman. I just had the Latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction surgery two weeks ago this Tuesday. I am experiencing very painful lower pelvic joint pain. Has anyone had this similar side effect after having this procedure? I am opened to all suggestions and recommendations. Thank you for the help.

Hi ~ I didn't have your type of recon, but the pain you're describing doesn't sound normal at all, especially since you've described it as "excruciating" in another post.  Have you reported it to your PS?  If you don't get an answer for it there, I would consider going to the ER.  Excruciating pain is a sign that something isn't right, and you certainly can't rest and heal with that going on.

You probably ought to repost your question as a new thread in the SURGERY forum (click on Forum Index above to find it).  I see you've posted in an ongoing thread, but sometimes individual questions can get kind of lost on that kind of fast-moving thread with multiple conversations going on.  (The forum you've posted in here relates to the chat room, which is probably why it hasn't been seen.  BCO discussion boards are extensive and a bit confusing at first!)

But definitely report that pain to your PS.  Just another thought... Is it possibly related to constipation?  Pain meds can cause that big time, and lower back pain could be consistent with it!     (((Hugs))) and let us know what you figure out!   Deanna
