Ugh! I overdid it at the gym, and now my right arm is slightly swollen. I have an appt to see a lymphedema specialist next week, but I'm hoping it will reverse itself on its own...does that ever happen? I can't stand this!!! Is it possible to get a case of lymphedema, manage it through therapy and then never have to deal with it again (except by prevention and being careful)?
The swelling is slight, I'm going to guess in the 5 cm range. This is so frustrating, but the therapist said she could fix it...I hope she's right!

I had a slight case a yr ago & had treatment & since then I havent had any problem. They do give you exercises & if I see my hand or arm is slightly swollen then I do them.I never wear the sleeve. Good luck!!!

Dawn-- thank you for replying and sharing your hopeful story. I'm trying to remain calm but can't stop looking at my arm and comparing the two. Nuts!

I over did it too in Feb, I did my exercise and arm is not swollen, but it somewhat sore,- they call it cording, that was my radiation side. For some reason my other arm was swollen to- I also had SNB, and therapist said it's less of a percent, but does happen. She says to do exercise everyday even when the swelling goes down and that I will have to be extra careful and try to set limitations or at less start slowly again to lift weights and see what happens. Frankly I'm just doing the minimum at the gyn now, until I get my nerve up to try again.
