I was just wondering if any of you have the Cancer policy with Conseco. I do and it has been good, although I have had to really stay on top of claims and denials. I am now beginning to have some issues with them and I just wanted to compare my experience with anyone else who might have this coverage. Thanks for any help!

I had Conseco for years and when my husband was diagnosed with liver cancer in 1999 I had a very difficult time getting them to pay. I fought tooth and nail for every claim. I now have AFLAC and it has been a God send since my diagnoses. No issues with claims and all my claims have been processed within a couple of weeks. Good Luck... |

Thanks, mmc. I wanted to check with someone with bc to see if they stopped paying on tamoxifen at some point saying it was preventative. Did they do anything like this with your husband? Rhonda (Sassy)

I had such a difficult experience with Conseco.... my husband died 6 mos after his diagnoses so I did not get to to the point of preventative meds but I will tell you that during his pallative care Conseco did not want to pay for the procedure he had to have done twice weekly to relieve the fluid in his abdomen (although it was a benefit) I finally had to get the docs to write a letter to them explaining the procedure was necessary. I did finally get some compensation but I still feel like I was ripped off in a big way. It seemed like Conseco tried to disprove every claim I made and I had to jump thru hoops to prove the claim was legitimate. Again I wish you luck.... |
