dmp, Like you I have grade 2 IDC Er Pr positive Hr negative, but my tumor was huge, over 5 cm and my 5 lymph nodes were a matted together mess. My sentinel node had a large tumor wrapped around it. Hence I am a stage 3. I was diagnosed seven years ago,not sure if you would call that long term or not.Am NED.I would think your diagnosis is very auspicious, stop fretting! (I know, way easier to say than to do it.) Best thoughts to you, you must be over the worst of your treatment by now... |

Hey ladies, I am 5 1/2 years out with no evidence of disease. I was dx'ed stage IIIA with 7 positive nodes. One swollen node under my arm was as large as my tumor (3cm) and two of the malignant ones were wrapped around the supraclavical. At one time I was told my cancer was so aggressive that it would be back and it would be stage IV. That was before Herceptin results changed my prognosis drastically. The onc I have now is very positive and I only have to go for annual checks. Mayo just sent me papers to fill out for the clinical trial and I was happy to report no recurrence. They plan to follow me for 20 years so I guess I need to stick around. So take heart ladies and dance with NED til the cows come home. At 63, I guess I am already an old lady, but not so much shriveled or wrinkled yet .... but probably just around the corner. LOL Hugs,,, Janie Diagnosis: 3/11/2004, IDC, 3cm, Stage IIIa, Grade 3, 7/20 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2+ |

Usually i am very careful not to read threads about statistics, but came across one tonight and glanced. I am so glad this thread was also here to fall back on. The reality is that statistics only matter to those they affect. It just doesn't matter! It seems the stage 3 thread has been inundated lately with stats so I have been reading less and less often. Too much more of this and I will have to take it off my favorites. I plan on just living and enjoying every minute...I am so tired of worrying about what if...it's time to look at what if from the other side. What if I live until I am 80, What if I see my children full-grown, what if I celebrate my 50th Wedding Anniversary... Anyway thank you for this positive thread. I will be more careful what I read next time... I have called upon you, for you will hear me oh God! Psalm 17:6
