I juice-and it's gross but my husband makes me. He is now making me do shots of wheat grass. It's totally nasty but the point is to keep me as healthy as possible. And I must say I feel so flipping good despite chemo I wonder if they made a mistake and I never had cancer:) lol
But anyone ever done wheat grass or know anything about it....

Hi PureE.....Having just read "crazy sexy cancer" ( great book) and how juicing and wheatgrass have kept her in remission have decided to take control over my diet. Just bought a juice with wheatgrass and am trying to just eat veg, fruits, fish and no processed foods. Feel if I can't control cancer @ least I can help fight this with a better diet. I am getting use to it-it's funny after you drink it you get a jolt. I also do 3 mornings a week 3 oranges with Pineapple-that is so so awsome. I also do smoothies with Banna, strawberry, soy, oj and hemp seeds. I do yoga once a day with 4000 mgs of Vitamin D3 and I spin 3 times a week and walk on alter days. I also life weights. JMV

Years ago when I was a "hippie" we would buy 50 lb bags of carrots and do lots of juicing. I was sooooo healthy then. I know juicing is good for you. Don't think I could do the wheat-grass now. I did take spirulina (powder) and chorella (powder) in drinks and that was healthy. Sort of like an internal deoderant. Thanks for making me think of these things again. I was asking WHERE CAN I GET SOME ENERGY - and, yes, juicing would be a way to do that. Keep juicing. Debi

Kerry Mac-Thank you so much for asking about wheat grass. I was wondering the same thing. I don't "juice" persay. I have a super blender (vitamix) and I just throw in whole fruits. I pop the stem off an apple (veggie wash it), throw in a carrot or two, banana (makes almost anything taste better), and an orange (only peel the orange off thinly) and add water. This is the easiest way I have found to get my fruits and veggies. I also throw in whatever other green is in the fridge (in small amounts because I have overadded occasionally and had to choke the thing down). Maybe I need to plant some of this wheat grass. I would like to start an indoor herb garden to grab from and throw in. I also purchased the Vitamin D3 liquid from Costco and the Detox Green drink. I throw in a shot from each of these. It makes a lot, but I can carry it around and have it as a breakfast on the go. I like that I don't lose any of the pulp and fiber like with juicing. Love this post because it reminds me to be better...it is so easy/wonderful to be busy with living and neglect the diet. I have called upon you, for you will hear me oh God! Psalm 17:6

exactly plus you get more. So yesterday I had a tomatoe, 2 carrots, and a yellow pepper. And they were all raw. I drank 3/4 of the cup-I use to be able to only do 1/2 a cup. My husband loves it-the weird thing is after w hile your body craves it- as gross as it is I need one. It gives me so much energy -and it helps my mood in some strange way as well. I just got my wheat grass maker today so I will let you know how that goes. It says it cures cancer, hemriods, depression- I have all of it so I have high hopes:).lolll JMV

I dont juice......But I have tonnes of raw veggies each day. Not something related to cancer, I ate very well since ever. Each day, I put a platter of veggies with dip on the table. ( My kitchen is between the front and back door) My family HAS to pass the table to go through the kitchen, and we all eat lots of raw veggies with dip each day. Carrots, ( cheap !) cucumber ( the small ones) green/red/yellow pepper ( more $) mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, AND that each day. If I have no time, I just buy Tzasiki ( greek dip) with it. Goes in the car, while watch TV... Very healthy. Best breakfast: Fruits like watermelon, pineapple, banana,, whatever fruit with maple siroup. YAMMI. Lunch Easy made soups like lentils, black bean, pea soup... Easy stuff, I make them on week-ends, freeze in little portions. Dinner, well, thats more complicated, but again, lots of veggies, chicken or turkey, and fish. Green tea at least 3 cups a day. And apple strudel :) :) ::) Carol, lumpect. 4xA/C 4xTAX, Mast. in Aug. 2009, Rad. Tamox

Mamita, I love hearing your French accent in your writing! "Point" for all non francophones, means "Period". Good point! And good tips on getting kids to eat well. I'm with DCMom, I have a blendtec, another 3 horse power blender. I put my juicer away. Now I just blend the heck out of whatever fruits and veggies I have.
