Hello I am getting ready to start 4 treatments of TC 3 weeks apart. I am trying to decide on which oncology to go to. I am 45 in great health very fit. Both places are the same distance from my home about 30-45 minutes.

Place A automatically gives you the neulasta shot the day after chemo then check blood counts every 10 days, and they have kind of dividers between the chemo chairs with a curtain if you want privacy. But I am also checking into another one of their locations that the same doctor goes to.

Place B only gives neulasta if you need it, they have you come in once a week to monitor blood counts. They have an open room for treatment but they also have a few private rooms you could use, and they have wifi which would really make the time fly and I could get work done.

Any opinions on the neulasta shot? Should I go with a doctor who feels I should just automatically get it or not?

well New York will be a lot further for you to fly cause it's on the East Coast. You probably would have to fly to LA then New Orleans. I drove there from Kansas City a few weeks ago and it's 13 hours. Not too bad and I know my husband wants to go back cause we really didn;t see much working the car show the whole time we were there.

Great to hear Paula! I have my next screening in a few weeks. I have not had anything done since chemo except blood work really. No aches or pains or reason to worry though.

So just found out that we are most likely going to bring the car to a Rock Festival In Atlantic City New Jersey in June. Waiting to see the contract when we get back next week. We would most likley spend a few days in visiting family on Long Island, So if anyone is up for a NYC trip I could spend a few days visiting with you all.

Maybe we all should meet in June. Yay! That would be fun! But we can arrange it via FB too. What is the music festival called Carrol?

It's a rock festival, Metallica is playing, not sure who else, it's goning to be very loud. They are going to have a car show and our car is going in a special tent that will have all famous rock star's cars. There should be lots of celebs and people with money there so hopefully will be a good networking event. Of course we get special passes for the show but I am not really into that kind fo music, we are way more mellow, huge Jimmy Buffet fans.

OK it's official we actually got the gig in Atlantic City New Jersey. Gonna have the car at a car show that contains all cars that belong to rock stars at a Metallica concert. I don't even know any of the music lol. Anyhoo we will be on the east coast June 22-25 probably going to mix in a visit to see friends and family in NYC either before or after the concert. So if anyone wants to plan a get together let me know.

Wow. I have just been looking over at one of the other topics. Seems we have recently lost a few girls. MBJ and Suze 35 both passed away last month. Kind of brings the gravity of the diagnosis back into light. Let's honour these girls by making the most of every day, as we are enjoying opportunities and experiences that they won't. Every day is a gift, let's unwrap each one like a child at Christmas. xxxx

I agree mum there is not much we can do for the girls who did not make it through all of this but remind ourselves how lucky we all are every day and not waste a moment on trivial nonsence. Taking a deep breath and moving on in their honor.

Yeah, I no longer get upset over anything, really. Except, when I hear that someone is no longer with us because of bc or any other illness that kills someone at a "young" (40,50,60) age. But I learned to look ahead and try not to look back at all, even though, it is hard, but I don't let myself get down like I used to when we were doing chemo.

Carroll - I would love to meet you and others around June 22-25. Is anybody else coming to NYC around then?

ok girls you have motivated me to start tracking what I eat. it's the only way to keep myself accountable. Gotta work 1:30-9:30 so that is a long time to be on my feet so I am not going to go to the gym. Working 36 hours this week that should keep me from eating too. Also trying to get this darn house clean.

mum Congartulations on your new home!
