Wondering about how other post menopausal, not-good-metabolizers of tamoxifen are managing.. I am an intermediate metabolizer but believe if I can get and keep this drug working for me, it will be a better drug than an AI.

I was post menopausal after chemo- not definitely post menopausal before chemo and I tested as a poor metabolizer. I ended up having a hysterectomy (rather than just an oophorectomy) and am on Femara. I am doing well- I also have to supplement Vitamin D currently.

I'm post menopausal, but the only treatment I allowed for my breast cancer was a lumpectomy and SNB - refused tamoxifen, refused arimidex, refused radiation. I have no idea if I metabolize the drug correctly or not and since I never intend to take it, it's a moot point.

It's been 5 years and 9 months since my diagnosis and still no recurrence as of the last mammogram.
