Ok so I am passing up on getting a water filtration system installed for the whole house, however am convinced to have 2 filters :
1 - Under the sink for drinking / cooking - which also will feed the fridge water
2 - on the Shower head to reduce chlorine.
Any suggestions on which brand / kind to purchase ? Any particular details I should pay attention to ?
Thanks in advance gals !

I don't know about feeding the fridge water but I use the Aquasana under sink system. You can visit my CaringBridge site at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/debbiecole

I recently installed a chlorine filter in my shower. It uses crystal quartz and the filter should last a year. The price seemed reasonable at approx $42. I have been told that chlorine and iodine compete for the same receptors, and there's so much chlorine in our water that even if your food contains adequte levels of iodine, you could still be deficient. I've been boosting my iodine consumption since February. It's not clear to me how much iodine or how much time is required to correct a deficiency. All I know is my fatigue still plagues me and this is yet one more thing on my growing list of things to do to get better. My idea of a balanced diet is a cookie in each hand
