Just wondering, has anyone heard of the pituitary gland in relationship to stimulating breast cancer growth? I know it controls other glands including female hormone producing glands. My partner has breast cancer with mets, and in a recent cat scan the dr's said pituitary gland was swollen, and as the dr. said it's probably nothing, I was just wondering since pituitary gland regulates milk production ect. if anyone heard of it stimulating cancer growth in the breast.
Thanks,
Cyn

No such thing as stupid questions- what you said actually makes sense! I think that our whole system works together, so when one things isn't working right, none of the others do either. Sure wish they would figure out what is not working right in us! Peace and health to you. Tami There's no place like home......There's no place like home

About a year ago I had a hormone panel run and it came back with a very low prolactin score. My family doc said to mention it to my Onc which I never did. I'm unsure what it means and was not able to garner much info from the internet. As I understand it, prolactin is produced by the pituatary gland. Sometimes I believe I'm better off not knowing..................... Jelly Dx 3/2002, IDC, 3/8 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2- |
