Hi...I am new to the site...diagnosed in 1999 with Stage 1 bc, no node involvement. Had a great 10 years then wham bang, out of the blue, mets to the liver and lungs in December 08....in denial for awhile but now carrying on with the fight. I am on herceptin and navelbine once a week. Had low white blood count yesterday so didn't get navelbine. I feel terrible today, aches and pains everywhere especially on left side of abdomen. I really haven't felt too bad since my diagnosis other than being tired. Does anyone else experience more aches and pains if wbc is low?
Thanks....and thanks for this wonderful forum and all who contribute. It's great to know I'm not alone.

Hi Linskate, Your cancer came back after 10yrs! - gosh darn this disease is sneaky. I am so sorry to hear that you have to struggle with this once again. I haven't been on the same treatment regime as you but I do recall from my chemo (after first diagnosis) that I experienced some of the same symptoms. The symptoms disappeared after I started getting a Neulasta shot the day after chemo. This med. boost the white blood cells. I wonder if you can ask for this? I know that it is an expensive medication but insurance should cover it. I truly hope that you can find a solution to help you feel better, you shouldn't have to feel worse while trying to get better. My thoughts are with you, take care. joani

Thanks joaniji....I will inquire about Neulasta. My chemo nurse told me not to be too concerned, that the wbc should be up by next week. I actually feel better tonight...went to my daughter's for a holiday cookout and had a glass of red wine...amazing how it made me forget my aches and pains!! Hope you are doing well.
