Sisters,

As many of you know from Lisa's postings, she is in desperate need of a mobility chair.  Let's work together and get her rolling down the road!   She needs $600 plus shipping and handling.  If you feel in your heart, the urge to help us reach this goal, please pm me and I will provide my address where you can mail a check or a paypal account if you wish to "charge it".  I will then purchase the chair directly for Lisa or mail her the money.

Come on girls,,,we can do this!

Thank you

Lydia

I have seen large sums raised for sisters here---$600 should be very do-able!

Hugs & thanx Lydia!

Coonie,

I have no idea until the checks start coming in.  Most people are mailing checks so I should have a better idea by the end of the week.

Oh, you guyzzz!

Especially Lydia! If I had any idea you were considering this I'd give you a good shake (and a HUG!) and tell you that in this economy everybody has it hard and nobody has any extra funds to contribute toward MY scooter! But it seems that a number of you have dug deep into nearly empty pockets and come up with $$$. I thank you. Making my SSDI stretch to cover my caregivers' P/T salaries has been making it impossible to consider buying 'personal transportation', even the sorely used models on craigslist. So I lie on my ever-expanding butt and pout about not even being able to take a walk. Your generosity will get me out of bed and into the fresh air!

Thank you!

Lisa

When Lisa gets her new wheels, we'll have to work on getting her some leather biker gear!  She already has the helmet, so we don't have to worry about that.  And some kind of horn or bell, too!  Wouldn't want her running anyone down!  And maybe some of those streamers you put at the end of handlebars.

Then her scooter will need a name.... on a license plate.

mthomp~ You've got great ideas for streamers and a horn! I ought to try and find one of those olde tyme."Ah-hooo-gah" sounding ones. There are electronic ones that are simple push-buttons, I am told. And I've been advised that I simply must get matching flames for my helmet and my scooter. I've been looking at a bright red model so maybe just a can of spray paint for the helmet and I'll be stylin'!

coonie ~ You're right, I do thrive on fresh air and sunshine (the #1 reason I choose to live in San Diego). I've spent entirely too much time under the fluorescent lights of hospitals this Spring and Summer. Add to that my near 'bout total restrictions in activity and I need sun! Thank you for helping to make that possible.
