Hello my wonderful sisters,
I have returned from Houston and I definately have brain mets but not just one no that would be to easy!!! I have more than 20 I couldnt believe it when I read the report it was like a kick in the stomache. I see my Onc. tommorow at 9am to discuss treatment options I hope there are still some left. The only chemo option I have left is Doxil but I have no idea about rads for brain or what. Im really pisssed Ixempra was no cake walk and it didnt do a d*** thing. I will continue to fight but I feel really different now like somehow beacause its in the brain Im somewhat defeated, I dont know I guess Im just freaked out and rambling . Sorry for spelling and puncuation .

A dear friend was diagnosed with brain mets recently (she's been stage 4 for just over 2 years) and had WBR this summer. Her MRI report just came back with VERY GOOD NEWS. Lesions barely visible! Doc had only said they wanted to prevent any spread of the brain mets. May this give you hope, since there IS hope. I wish you the best. Hey Denise, sorry I just saw this. I was going to say WBR would work to zap the numerous mets. If any are stubburn and don't go with the WBR you should still be able to zap a few with Gamma Knife or something like that. Check out www.brainmetsbc.org there is lots of great info there when it comes to brain mets. All is not lost, it just sounds so scary when anything touches our brain. Its bad enough we get CRS (can't remember sh#@) from all the drugs we take, but when this monster invades that area it becomes freak out time. I hlpe the rads are going well and you bounce back with the next tx! LuAnn -- www.luannsblog.typepad.com

Denise - I know how scary this is and I'm so sorry you are going thru this.
