I have to go Nov. 5 for my Tx (Zometa, Lupron) and blood work. Two hours one way, in Dr's office 2-3 hours and back two hours. Again alone. Only my car (best friend and best helper) and me. Please, I need prayers for this trip. I have to be pain free and strong for Thursday.

Irina, you have all my prayers, unworthy as they might be. But I promise I'll cover all the saints, and a special chat with Ganesha, my best Hindu god, who helps with all new endeavors. I'm just the first to post, but I know women more eloquent than me will be posting their prayers, too, Be well, be brave and come home safe. hugs, --donna

Prayers for you on a very long day!!    I wish you had a friend or family to go along with you.  But we will be in the car with you in spirit.    Last year I drove 2 1/2 hours every day to get radiation because my local hospital would not treat me.   It was a tough six weeks.   I tried to take the time in the car to relax and just ponder life.

I know life has been so tough for you.   I keep you at the top of my prayers every night!!!

((((hugs))))

Prayers coming your way Irina - have you looked into the American Cancer Society program where they might drive you to treatments? I think its called the road to recovery?  Is there no public transportation you would use? Is there any accomadations you could use at the center to stay overnight and go home the next day? If you go alone - take frequent breaks and crank up the music and sing at the top of your lungs LOL. Good luck!!

I tried to explain that with stage 4 your appts can very, the lady i was talking to could not understand that. She was a patient that thoughts she was cured. I pray to got that is the case.  I called the main lady and told her she needed to educate her volunteers that there are stage 4 patients living life we just have a few more obstacles to deal with. I explained to her that i was going over the hill 3x times a month but since july 27th I was averaging 2-3 times a week because of congestive heart failure.  Many many many tests. So I couldn't give her a definate answer. I did get  a $100.00 dollar card today. wich was a nice gesture.

Call cancer care 1-800-813-4673. They are sending me paper work for my dr to sign and will get a hundred dollar gas card. Ask where you get tx if they know how you can get a gas card. People donate them. So maybe now holidays are near people will donate them more often. If I think of anything else I will post. God bless. We will make it. hugssssss

Irina Good luck!!! I know about the singing b/c I do it myself on long trips!!

When you do your taxes - medical expenses have to be a certain % of your income but you ca deduct any out of pocket including a set rate for gas, mileage etc related to your care

Have you applies for SSDI? If you have a work history - Stage IV is an automatic compassionate allowances approval - should be approved withing 1 month.

Letus know how you did? We're storming heavn for you!

Oh Irina, why don't you move out here where I live.  There are lots of doctors close by and I'd be happy to help you get to where you need.  Then you wouldn't have to put up with all the crap you are dealing with.

Yes, I use leftover money from my financial ed.from college to go to travel, Sorry, I'm still human and need entertainment. Too have this entertainment I work very hard. From my family i have only my daughtier, who  works full time and she is cancer survivor. She has many heath issues( caterer every 2-3 hours to urinated, metal brass for her leg to walk). I can't ask her about help. In Russia I have my cuisines. I sow them maybe ones in 10 years, when I lived in Russia. I live 10 years in US and i like to die in the country, where my daughter lives. This is my rights, and no one can tell me where I should go. I received my Green Card because I was abuse by my ex, who is American citizen, who didn't let me go for Tx.  I think i'm pretty clear about my position and no one can ask me to move from this country. Next year I will receive my American citizenship.

Hi Irina,

I am glad that you made to and from your treatment okay.  How did the blood tests go?  You are an amazing woman to be coping with all that you do.  I am still concerned about your dumbass landlord!!  I hope that things are better with him.  Once you become a citizen do you think that you can get SSDI? I hope so.  Have you tried calling Breast Cancer Network of Strength to see if they can help with your expenses? I think that they can also send a volunteer to accompany you at your appointments.  Do you come to Chicago for your treatments? I live in Chicago and would be happy to come keep you company or to take you to lunch.  Just let me know.  Best wishes, Joani
