I'm hearing such GREAT things about this TDM1 trials. I just went to see Dr. Slamon...pioneer of Herceptin. I needed a 2nd opinion since I've had a recurrence. His 1st choice for me was getting into a TDM1 trial. He smiles when he explains how this TDM1 works and the GREAT results they are seeing! Unfortunetly because of the HMO I'm in I can't get into the one I wanted. :( But that being said I know of a few ladies on the Her2support board that are NED thanks to TDM1. One woman was having no luck on any of the previous drug combo's she had...but once she was on the tdm1 it was working right away! I find this VERY exciting. I just hope and pray they get this fast tracked to be available for all of us that need it. I want...and need it now myself. I'm stage IV and this kind of news gives me hope! Her2 ELISA measures CTC (Circulating Tumor Cell)... I'm going to ask my onc about this my next visit (December) because my biopsy showed Her2 equivocal but considered negative. I had my first set of scans last week and they showed that after 2 cycles everything appeared to be shrinking (I have mets to the hilar lymph nodes and lungs) :). We were elated with the news!
