Six years of weekly Herceptin - cancer somewhat contained. Then last year bone scan and tumor markers indicated the cancer was spreading again. I continued Herceptin and added Navelbine. For an entire year I was sick and I'm sure it was the Navelbine. Stopped it in May and in June cancer shows up again so I began oral chemo - Xeloda and Tykerb. I only took this for one month. Hospitalized with dehydration and high blood pressure which turned out to be kidney failure. Oncologist gave me about 6 months - got a 2nd opinion at Duke - they gave me hope and worked with my local onco to put me back on Herceptin and add Taxol.
Anyone currently or in past on Herceptin and Taxol? How's it working?
Any other new "cocktails" available?
Any other "long timers" receiving Herceptin for years?
