Hello Ladies,

This is Julie, Debbie's little sister. I have watched Debbie's post over the years on here without her knowing. It gives me much pride to see the support she has shown other fellow BC ladies. She is one strong woman! Her health is declining and was moved to a hospice facility today. If you would like to conact me I will help relay what information I have. I live in Georgia and Deb lives in Florida.

My contact info 3748ford at bellsouth.net

Dear Julie:

There must be such a thing as extrasensory perception! I have not been back on this board for quite a while, I have no idea what prompted me to do a search on Flalady a few minutes ago...... And here you are.....

Thank you so much for coming here to talk to us about Debbie. We certainly are with her in thoughts and prayers. She is one strong lady, she is one amazing person.

Courage!

I just wanted to let you all know that the family received the dreaded news today that my sister Debbie (FlaLady) past away at 10:00 pm Tuesday night October 20th, 2009. I live in Georgia and I have my 80 year old father with me, husband and brother. My mother and other siblings were with Debbie in Florida. Their were five siblings total. My oldest brother called to let us know and the arrangements made. But I have no other details as of right now.

I wanted to let you all know that I had to debate with myself wether I should post something on the board to let you ladies now her condition the other day, I knew then that she wouldn't last the week. I know she quit posting because she never wanted you all to know how bad she was and for none of you to give up hope with your treatments or overcoming your disease. Debbie fought a hell of a battle right until the end. Just Saturday when mother was packing some things for them to go to the hospice. Debbie told her "You know I really thought I was going to be a Lance Armstrong". She truely believed it until a week or so before past because she never gave up hope.

I don't know if any of you know Debbie's personal life story. But she was 49 years old and even though she was a successful business person. I often wonder what her drive and will
to live came from. She lived by herself, she never married or had any children. But when I would came to these boards on this website, I realized that she was doing it for all of you and for the ladies behind you. So the doctors may learn from her condition so hopefully she could make a difference.

I know it will take a while for the pain and sorrow to leave me, but at the same time I realize Debbie is in a better place with no pain or suffering. May She Rest In Peace....

And May God Continue To Bless You All.

Dearest Deb...I praise your being that our lives did cross. Not in circumstance we both sought, yet not ever for loss. You touched us brilliantly with words deep of thought; you pass not blindly, to a peace and place dastard breast cancer has again brought.

Your last months suffering no one should ever bear. Your type of breast cancer brought realities very rare. I understood your need for solitude: like the gentle man from Notre Dame, your trial was truly personal in the manner withstood.  I grieved from a distance, and never a day did pass, I didn't say a Hosanna for you in my own mass.

Today I will mourn and tomorrow too. Deb, thank you, thank you for letting me be close to you.
