Wish I could help you, this is such a great idea. I am in need of a breast form myself. My insurance doesn't cover them. I need a size 9 and the bra size is a 42D. If you know of anyone who has one please PM me. I would greatly appreciate it and would gladly help your cause if I could,
Thanks,

How about a barter?  I'm also a knitter of prothesis' and have made about 20 pair for others in all sizes.  I'd be happy to make some in exchange for a swim form.  If you happen to come across one (I was a 36B originally but am now, I'm told a 36A - my current ABC form is a size 3), I'd be happy to work something out in exchange.

Cheryl.

Oops, I forgot I need two forms now, not just one.  Keep forgetting I no longer have the right breast anymore. Surprised

Hi

I had a Bilt/Recon with expanders and lost one due to infection after a month. I have been living for a year with a sock stuck in my bra, but I am going back to work and I don't want to readjust myself in frount of people. I am having a diep done in the fall since it will be a full year from Rads. I would appreciate any help. I don't know about size??? But my bra size is a 38c and my expanded size fits perfect in it. I wish he would take the other side out it would make it so much easier. I waited cause I thought I would be having surgery by now, but do to my physical condition and how long I have been going through TX they want me to take a break and to be honest I need it also.

I have a bunch of wigs never worn and hats I would gladly exchange.

Thank-you so much for this thread and even if I you can't help me I would still gladly send what I have. Just PM me so I can get your address.

                                           Thanks again,

                                             Bridget

I was thinking of something like this the other day myself.  I have an Amoena mastectomy bra, size large, with the 2 drain pockets and 2 breast pads. I only wore it several times.  I would love to give it to someone who is in need of it cause they are $50, not small change these days especially for something u only need for a week or two.  You can PM if you need or know of someone that can use it.

Here's an alternate choice. The local chapter of the Amercan Cancer Society often accepts forms. Some of them maintain a wigs & headgear closet, from which women can borrow.

Dear Purplemb,

I am almost finished with my reconstruction journey.  I am having my exchange surgery on Thursday of this week.

I have a few breast forms that I won't be needing and a number of bras.  Form a left breast,  size is  5 and a 6, bras are 38 B.

If you would like to redistribute them I would gladly send them to you.  Please email me your address.

It will take me a few weeks as I will be reconvering from exchange and lift but would like them to go to someone who is in need.  Thanks

Hi,

I was just on the phone this morning asking my advocate where I can bras.  My insurance won't cover the cost.  I had a right mastectomy on June 23rd. and am going back to work soon.  I was a 34-B.  I have no idea how the forms work as to their sizes but I know that a sock in the bra is not working.  I would love it if you have something that would work for me.

Thank you so much for creating this thread!!!!!  And thanks to all of you who are sending in your longer needed things-and CONGRATS!!!!!!
