I'm embarassed to admit this, but since I'm high-alert with my breasts these days and waiting for some testing outcomes, everything is starting to seem like a symptom of something abnormal.
I've had stretch marks on my breasts for many years, but I've never really noticed that they seem to create "grooves" and small dimples in my breast as they wind their way from the outside in toward the nipple. It's not very obvious if I'm looking at my breasts in a mirror, but if I look down and sort of raise my arm above my head, you can tell.
Is that normal? Is it normal for that to be more noticeable over time?

I should also ask: does the "orange-peel" symptom of IBC have to include thickened skin? Because even though my skin feels normal (no thickness, rash, warmth, swelling, etc.), at a certain angle the grooves and dimples do start to resemble that of an orange... any thoughts? Am I just freaking myself out over stretch marks? |

I am experiencing the same thing. When I raise my arm above my head I see this dimpling that looks like cellulite. I do not remember it being there before. I am also on high alert after having to have a biopsy at the end of August. My results were benign!!! I asked my husband about this new appearance on my breast (very prominent on the right) and he said he could see it also. I can notice in the mirror. Anyway I went to the dr. and he said that what I see is not the dimpling or the orange peel look associated with breast cancer. He felt no lumps and my mammogram of the right breast in August was normal. I feel much better now. I am still going to watch it with BSE but it put me at ease. I suggest you ask the Dr. since without looking at your breast it is hard to determine if it would look like mine. I hope this helps a little. I was afraid to go to the Dr. for several reasons but am glad that I finally did. Good luck. |
