Hi,
I went for my 6 month diagnostic mammogram. I received a letter from them stating that it showed an area that we believe is benign. Believe? Should I be as worried as I am? The doctor had ordered an ultrasound too, but the doctor looked at this spot and didn't do the ultrasound. Can anyone give me any insight into this? The doctor said he would use that as a baseline. I have been told that my chances of recurrence are high and this really alarmed me.
Thanks, Creppel

As someone who was at high risk of a second dx, and, actually got a second primary (I'm BRCA2+) I would want an ultrasound to get additional information. If ultrasound confirms suspicious area, I would want a biopsy. Good luck. I hope all is b9. Helen

Thanks hrf. I spoke to the doctor who did my radiation today and he said that was typical after brachytherapy and radiation, so I feel a lot better now. |
