For those women who had cancer more than once, with positive nodes, were your underarm(s) SORE-before your diagnosis?
My first cancer was in April, finished rads in July 08. Saw my onc doctor this week, found a LUMP in my OTHER breast, and lumpiness in my radiated breast near the boost area. Have a mamo in 2 weeks........I'm 38 , with a possible 2nd cancer nightmare. My left underarm has been slighly sore where the new lump is, close to my armpit (about 2:00 area on the upper breast).
He immediatley sent me for a tumor marker 27.29 test , don't know yet the results.
Anyone else experience this?

yes, i've had cancer in the axilla three times now and i've always had pain - at least one of aching, soreness, throbbing, sharp pains etc.
people say there's no pain but that's not my experience

I really hope you don't end up with a second nightmare - you've been through a lot and so recently.
I'm learning to trust my own sensations more and more in all this - if I had to do it over I would have been more insistent about new and different sensations.

My sister said her nodes were sore before her bc diagnosis...She was stage 3b......She is doing well now by the way......My nodes were clear and I had no pain..........i had 6 removed from the Senitnel node and the Axillary node Sections..........I now have pain on the back of my arm from nerve damage that wil never heal.....Also have numbness back there that won't heal either.....Bummer......

I then had mast on R breast after waiting since 99 when I found lump, long story, then in 11-05 left breast was a mess, then it had to go, then 11-06 it traveled to mets in 11-06, I hate Novembers, and now it has been in remission I found out just this year 2010, but see onc of course in Nov 2010 ...as I have waited for long time as they removed like 20 nodes back then under R arm, and now for at least 6 months + I found another lump, but onc said back then nothing..well its changed to about 2" long and 1/2 inch wide and hurts even when I dont do anything, really scarred as I looked up Hodgekins and I fit all descriptions of it...even the stress...I went away a few wks ago to get away to Wash State where most girls here know thats my hideaway to see my sister and do nothing but watch the trees grow...but back to armpit, if I called when it started, Id have to see the PA and i feel if im paying to see the onc I want to see the Dr...just my feelings.
If any one knows of this sort of things to relieve me before i see him OR change drs which they have told me to do, as I have been passed back and forth so many times, and was blindfolded since the beginning, let me know...
Glad I found you under ACS, and almost forgot my sign on here "Ter" for Terrie, as I ususally go under mets stage 4, and started w/help from admin the hospice site here....as I had alot of problems with alot of gals back then, but hopefully not now...where am I now since I came on thru ACS? and so many things have changed here.
