Bilateral Mastectomy with Immediate Reconstruction
Hello, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January and started Chemo last week. I've asked for a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction using implants. I'm worried about the recovery. I've never had any surgeries before. I'm in my early 30s, so the bilateral makes sense to me. Are there any tips anyone can…

What happens if you use your arm too much post mastectomy
I just had mastectomy with TE/implant based reconstruction on my dominant side and I'm finding it hard not to use the arm for stuff like mousing on the computer. I am not doing any heavy lifting but I get bored and am on my computer a lot. I'm curious what happens if I use the arm too much. Thanks! And can't wait to get…

Magtrace?
Has anyone here had a magtrace done instead of sentinel lymph node biopsy? I'm scheduled for bilateral mx at the end of this month. They're doing the slnb on my left, since that side has invasive cancer, but on the right where they've found only DCIS the doctor has mentioned doing a magtrace instead. She says this will…

What counts as "active treatment"? I'm honestly asking, since I am in that weird liminal zone between "done with surgeries" (I hope), but "still taking meds."

Post bilateral mastectomy and feeling alone
I am 7 weeks post bilateral mastectomy and feeling alone. I have gained weight and look so disfigured that I find myself not wanted to go out in public. Hypersensitive skin/nerves after mastectomy
Hi, I am new to the forum, so I apologize if the question has been asked and answered in the past. I had a double mastectomy 7 weeks ago (no recon) and the second week after it I started experiencing a strange kind of pain in the upper chest area and armpits. It feels like a bad sunburn being rubbed over with sandpaper. It…

Redness / swelling 4 weeks after lumpectomy
Hi all, I’m just curious if anyone developed sudden redness and swelling and increased tenderness several weeks after their surgery? Re-excision and surprise DCIS near ILC tumor
Hi friends, I had lumpectomy surgery last week and rec'd pathology back. Some mixed news! Good margins on the 5 mm tumor, and no lymph node involvement! That is wonderful news! However, they found DCIS in one of the margins. Surgeon recommends removing that, too. Maybe about 1 mm in size. She said some people radiate that…

Post mastectomy tops you’d recommend
Hello, I’m about a week post-op from my double mastectomy. I got a couple soft, button down short sleeve shirts to wear around the house that have been ok. Now that I’m going to be venturing out of the house a bit more, I’m hoping to find some tops that are still button or zip front that can have a place to conceal my…
