MaryRose. I live in a bubble. I've learned that I can't allow myself to follow the news. Local, national nor international. I just get tooooo upset learning what people are capable of doing. I did see on FB last night that there were prayers being said, so I knew something awful had happened. My DH gave me the fewest details possible, so I wouldn't be completely clueless. (He is my filter.) My heart goes out to the families and to your entire community. I can't imagine the devastation that it sends thru the entire area. Such a feeling of shock & helplessness. Prayers for you as well as you grapple with the enormity of the whole story. I have a friend who's a professor at the site of the college that experienced such horror a couple years back. Time brings some healing, but the heartbreak lasts a very long time -- especially to those near to the story. Big hugs & prayers. xx00xx00xx00xx Keep up with my travels at: www.rainbowswithinreach.blogspot.com

Thanks to all of you bunnies for your continual support & feedback. Strangely enough I was able to sleep soundly last night..... with a smile on my face. I think holding the fruition of the years of effort allowed me to 'let go' and actually sleep for a change. We'll see if the shipment of books arrives before the DC departure a week from Monday. We are in the process of orchestrating a little dust-bunny meet up. Cheryl has secured the 'day-off' for Tues Nov 17th...... now we need to figure out a place??? AKA are you still available?? Where should we meet? I was thinking brunch time. Speaking of meet-ups. I'm gonna get to meet COONIE. Seriously. Gonna meet COONIE!! THE coonie!! Yesterday I finally got some of the details for an upcoming Baton Rouge adventure in January. We're gonna be laughing it up big time starting Jan. 11th. If there's anyone else up for joining either of these two mini-meets...... just holler. The more the merrier!! I'll have my camera ready. Faith, perhaps I also live in a bubble. There are so many tragedies in the news that I no longer read the newspaper except for the comics and cross word puzzle. When I log on, I check the local news headlines, but rarely click for more information. My sister was on site during a high school hostage situation and face to face with the gun man. My son's boss was on the first plane to hit on 9/11. I live in a high security area and there are no days that go by without me seeing a military presence unless I keep the blinds drawn and go back to bed. I prefer to aim for the half full, versus half empty theory. There is too much sadness, but there is always something pretty or pleasant around -- something to be grateful for. Hugs and Blessings for a peaceful day. Nancy Diagnosis: 5/2/2008, IDC, 6cm+, Stage IIa, Grade 3, 0/3 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2+ |

Shocked about the shooting in Fort Hood. I listened to the story on my way to my psychiatrist researchers this morning. So sad & tragic all the way around. Mary, we are all thinking about Texas today. Nancy, I can't imagine how your family got through that stand-off your sister witnessed, but I'm glad you did. Shiny, maybe Prime Minister of England first, then President of the U.S. or Canada?? Yay, Faithie!!!!!!!! BTW, I flunked out of the research study. I had such a strong initial reaction of side effects to the infusion that contained the actual drug, that they didn't want me to do the other two visits, one of which would have been 3x the amount of the drug. I would have done it anyway -- the SE's went away in 5 minutes -- but they are all about safety, which is what you want, so I'm all done. But they got good data from the two sessions I completed, so it wasn't a loss to them. So that's good. And now, I can concentrate on actually recovering from cancer related fatigue instead of being a research subject for it. One of the docs consulted with me about it afterwards & outlined a course of treatment options. One of his suggestions was wellbutrin, usually used as an antidepressant, titrating up to 300-450mg, which he's seen to be affective with CRF. So, I pass that on as something you can try. My pcp mentioned that as well, so I'm going to try that first before going back to provigil or nuvigil. Love to you all! Gotta write a blog post. BTW, Sesame Street is 40 years old this month!! Its been a long time... I had 8 pages to read, and I read them all. To the one who read about the "positive" woman and cried.... come here and cry with me. I cry at weddings, I whine when it hurts, I let people know how I feel - right now. I cannot bag it til later. I cry now. So you are not a baby - because I do not consider myself a baby and I do not see you as one either. To the person with the size 9 1/2 AA flats - can you donate them to one of the stores that rent out outfits for job interviews.. a request from my daughter who did not have dress up clothes for a job interview (and had to borrow from mom - how gauche!). I had started going through my drawers and getting rid of tops with tears, etc and doing well (this is not housework - this is finding room to walk on my bdrm floor. I got rid of 10 tops and my neighbour gave me 12 - all nicer than the ones I own. GRRRRRR. I am now in worse shape than before. Am looking forward to florida.... 4 days of fun, fun, fun. And when I get back my new housekeeper starts. Monday - Doctor, Nurse visit (hubby cleans up before they arrive) Tuesday - PSW - cleans kitchen while I shower Wednesday- Housekeeper cleans kitchen, dining room and bathroom Thursday - Friday - PSW - Does my laundry and I shower Saturday Sunday - swimming with friend My week is really starting to shape up. The PSW cleans tub after my use so bathroom gets cleaned 3 times a week. The housekeeper on wed. is every other week, This is my contribution to not doing housework. Laugh until it really IS funny.

GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where is everyone??? Please don't tell me you're all cleaning. I might feel some angst. Actually, I do have a load in the dryer already. The piles in every area of the house are growing, tho. I must get some sort of grip, as the newlyweds are coming for Thanksgiving. She's a neat&tidy-nut and she'd probably have me committed if she walked in right now. (I kid you not!!!! LOL) We all attempt to exert "control" in our own ways...... How 'bout if I attempt to clean off the kitchen counter, as my one genuine task?? Keep up with my travels at: www.rainbowswithinreach.blogspot.com
