I've been offered FEC x 6 treatment which is FLUORORACIL, EPIRUBICIN AND CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE. I'm not too happy with the epirubicin because of rare effects on the heart. I've heard that CT (cytoxan and taxotere) would be less harmful to the heart. Has anyone got any views, knowledge or experience of these? Thank you in advance.

I will be having FEC also with the exception that it will be 3 FEC+ 3 T. I have a history of heart disease in the family and I have high BP. My onco said that once he saw my echo he could decide and this is what he came up with. He told us that the two he was considering the chances of heart problems were .01 and .03. The risk is low but is there. My tumor was large and aggresive so thus the aggressive nature of the chemo. You will be monitored. If it still bothers you let your onco know how you feel. The studies I have looked at suggest the FEC+T regimine is a good treatment for my situation being ER and PR+ and GRADE 3 Stage3a.
