Florida - You don't say what doctor told you to come back but it seems like your referring to your surgeon. Have you seen a medical oncologist? Even if your surgeon does't think chemo is indicated, it's a good idea to get an opinion from a MO and a RO. If your nodes were negative, your oncotype score will help to determine the benefit you would have from receiving chemo. Sending you calming vibes as you wait until have a plan in place.

Hi Florida ... I'm glad you decided to post .. I lurked for quite awhile myself in the beginning.

I had a Stage I tumor as well.  It was IDC, DCIS and LCIS combined.  I had a lumpectomy and radiation.  I believe I started radiation about a month after my lumpectomy.  The doctor wanted to give it plenty of time to heal.

Please post more often and I'm sure you'll get lots of support.  We're here for you.

hugs,

Hi everyone, it does suck to all be here, but it has helped calm me down in many ways.

BinVa- I have the same 3 as you. The DCIS and LCIS was over 7 yrs ago. Now it is the IDC in the other breast. Were yours in the same breast? From what I have read about the LCIS it is a life time higer risk of getting an invasive cancer so I don't know if a lumpectomy again is the right choice. I know it is an easier route than a mastectomy, but I really don't know what to do. Not much was said about the LCIS 7 yrs ago. What were you told about it?

Florida55- they did my radiation within a few weeks after surgery.
