I am 47 and divorced a year when I was diagnosed with Stage IIIA, ER/PR, heu-neu neg BC.  I have had 4 surgeries, been through chemo and radiation.  I need one more surgery in February.

I have to move in with my mother for 3 months in order to save the funds to relocate, get glasses, etc.  This is not a choice, it is a necessity.

I have a 9 1/2 year old Cocker Spaniel that needs to be fostered for 3 months.  I will provide all food, meds, etc.  I am willing to drive him to you in the northeast.

He is my baby and my family.  I have to foster out my two beautiful cats, too.

If anyone knows of any organizations, is interested, or knows someone who may be interested, please contact me.

 Thank you!!

Nancy

Disability denied my claim.

Good luck, Nancy. I'm sure something will come up. I'd gladly help but I don't think we live anywhere near each other. I have a cocker, too, and she's my heart! (she's 16!)

Nancy,

I am no where near you, but I am single and living with stage iv bc. My sweet old beagle and cats are my babies.  So I did a little research and here are some web sites I found that may be able to help you.

http://www.northeastdogrescueconnection.com/

The last one is cocker rescue organization in the NE.  Best of luck to you.  You should appeal the disability claim.  Keep appealing if necessary.  Hugs.

I hope something work sout for you!  I have a wonderful 8 year old bassett hound named Sophia.  She is my daughter and my family.  I have no husband and no kids ..... she is it!  I love her to pieces.  I am going to have to find a place for her to stay will I do a bit of traveling in Jan/Feb.  That is my 60th birdthday and cancer survivor gift to myself .....taking some time to go visit friends who live in other places.  Sophia just cannot come.  I have made a connection with a groomer and a rescue place and I think I will find a good place for her .... but just thinking about someone else having my dog pisses me off!  We are looney about our pets huh?  I have had 3 surgeries this year with one more to go and chemo (no radiation because I opted for a bilateral mast).  so I know how worn out you must be.

Chin up!  Appeal the disability.  I did not apply and wish I would have.

Victorious,

I did appeal disability.  In NY the average wait for an administrative hearing is 11 months.

We have a Congresswoman up here who is really on the ball helping her constituents.  I sent a letter asking her help to get my hearing moved up and received a callback the next day at noon!

I signed a release and they are going to look into it.I would bet something will come of this.

Hugs to you Nancy,  I wish I could help you.  I too am 47, divorced one year ago, diagnosed LCIS had BM and reconstruction 5 months ago.  My exchange surgery is scheduled for Dec 4th.  One month ago my ex decided to stop paying child support and leave the state, he took my dog.  My dog was my joy.  I wish that I could have helped you with yours.  I hope that you found someone to care for your dog that is close to you so that you have been able to see him.  Life is hard.  So much loss.  I know that you have suffered greatly.

Prayers go out to you.  Stay strong, let others help you and remember and believe that the best is yet to be.....................
