no Kira....use one or the other.....komprex 11... i use  it mostly when i wrap....sometimes for my hand under my glove.....just cut the size you want and i use it for fibrosis to in my sleeve..... so i bought the whole sheet....they use to sell different shapes i think....not sure but i think they will send you a sample....it may be big enough for the hand.....think someone here did that....

I use the dorsal swell spot for the back of my hand and it works great. It costs $10.50. I also use komprex 11 when i wrap.

Bandages Plus told me the best they have for the hand is  the dorsal swell spot.

I did try buckwheat before but it didn't do anything for me.I had it in different shapes. I have a stuborn hand.

Thank You Binney

My petition went to the legislature this afternoon. We don't know the outcome yet but the health minister is going to review it soon.

I leaned on Binney through out the last year when i was collecting over 1,000 names. She encouraged me, she advised me,she prayed for me,she gave me confidience, she believed in me.

I would never would have been able to do all this without her. We are so lucky to have her with us, as without her, i would not have my lymphedma under control and this would not be happening.

So Binney God bless you and be well. You are an angel.

Femara "vacation" for 3.5 weeks - no aches after restarting it??

Hi Artsee,

Please don't do this on your own....see your ONCO FIRST and decide together, is what everyone should do. Worked  very good for me.

Someone help me with hot flashes? Been on gabapentin (sp) and effexor, and  still on clonidine. Gosh they are bad and many. I can't think a negative thought,or get heated up with tea and then look out a hot flash.

Femara "vacation" for 3.5 weeks - no aches after restarting it??

I sure did  have this happen to me and i have been back on it for mts after being off it for a month.

I had horrible pain in my arms and wrists etc before but the pain is still gone.

I posted this awhile back but don't think anyone believed me as there were no replies.

I will bring the post up for you Rockville.

Sure hope and pray it continues for you. Great for me except those horrible hot flashes. I am on clonidine but it isn't helping. Must be something as i have 3 yrs and 11 months to go on femara.

Femara, tendons and hand pain

I started femara on October 1st 2007 and after 10 weeks i had severe pain in my hands, wrist, arm and feet. It was different from my arthritis pain as it was so sharp. I don't think i could have stood it much longer. The pain lasted until i took a break from femara. I took a break to see if my liver enzymes would come down....not.....it was bile reflex causing the GGT and ALK to increase. On Questran and liver enzymes are normal thank you God.

I took a month of and now i am back on femara since May 1st. (5mts) with none of the pain. Weird eh !!!!but i am very happy about this. The side-effects i have from femara are terrible hot flashes, (had them on 5 years of tamoxifen to)  very tired, and constipation.

I do have very dry eyes and thought they may be caused by femara but i am not sure as my friend asked the onco and she said she never heard of this. I also have a underactive thyroid and hoping this is it. I have been on syn thyroid for 17 years. She increased it.

update: saw onco a Sept 30th and i am not the only one who went off femara and the pain went. They are looking into this. Please don't ever go off femara until you see your onco.

Tender did you ever hear of this? My onco said exactly what you told me about staying on femara. Thank you for all the help you give us here.

Sharon lymphedema garments are mostly paid for in Ontario and even for a reid sleeve under the ADP program.

How does lymphedema affect your life?

Hi Girls, Wouldn't all this be good in a book. If i win the lotto i will write a book about le, coming from someone with le.

Am i the only one who finds driving gives me pain in the upper arm? wow, isn't this all true that even the simplest things we do become a big problem with Le. No wonder we get so frustrated at times. You have to have Le to "truly get it"

Arm Wrapped Today-First Time

Hi, Tj,

I use the 2 inch when i wrap my hand and find it better. All i do is double it and it works better than the 1 inch.

I remember when i  first learned  to wrap i though i would never learn to do it. It is so good to learn to wrap as if you ever have a "flare up" you can wrap again.

I was so worried at first now i feel so in control and i know you will to.You may shed a few tears and get mad about it and we all do that.

So hang in there sweetie and i promise you it will get better.

Femara and dieting! Can it be done?

My husband lost 43 lbs in 6 months. He did it by cutting all his food intake by half.

Only sweets are 100 calorie cookies, sorbort, lots of fruit,V8(not a lot of vetables as he doesn't like much) no more than 2 serving of bread a day....wholewheat , no more than one potato a day, every night after supper he had no sugar jello with cool whip,or pudding without sugar( jello brand,i make with 2cups of 2% or 1%milk with cool whip, or fruit cocktale, low fat no sugar banana loaf, but remember only 2 pieces etc.

We stay away from fast food restarants but once a month we go and he gets what he wants.

He can't exercise at all (health problems) Set a goal weight for yourself.

I am on femara and i won't let myself go over 129 lbs. Right now i am 127 and 5 feet tall. Trying to get to 125 then see what happens. I used to go to tops.

Losing weight has GOT to start in your mind. You really have to WANT to do it, then it just becomes a way of life. You have to do it for you.

I wanted my hubby to lose weight years ago but he didn't want to. When he wanted to he did it and now feels so much better.

Another thing you can do is write down everything you eat and you will be surprised to see what you do eat. I don't do this as i find it puts to much stress on me. I can't exercise also....health problems.

If you want something have it but remember only HALF. If iam craving potato chips i buy 100 calorie bags and have 1 only. If i eat more than one i will want the 6 bags that come in the box.

If you want more than one bag eat it in front of a full length mirror and see what you are doing.

When you eat do it not by wanting tv or reading or you will end up eating and not enjoying each mouth full.

You need to be accoutable and a way to do this , is tell a friend or get weighted each week in front of someone and put it down in a book.

Say to yourself that it takes about 3 weeks to see a difference.

Anyway i have yacked enough and good luck and remember "you are worth it" and can do anything.

I know as i have been through so much in life and it is only God who has seen me through it. I am 67.I have arthritis in every joint +spinal stenosis +arthritis so bad in feet, facet joint arthritis ,plus all kinds of health problems so if i can do it anyone can.

Love and hugs jinky (Carol

ps. If you do overeat don't beat yourself up, just move on.
