How do I post a link?

Thank you cp418, jellydonut and rockwell_girl,

I don't think mine works.  My link is not lit up like yours.

Thank you though, for being patient and so kind.

Clean Air Revival

Hi,

I usually post on the alternative board. I tried to post this link and had so much trouble that I asked my friend "woodnyet" to post this site's link for me. You can see for yourself,  if you go to the alternative board, that I have unsuccessfully tried posting it about 3 times. I have no idea why I can't post a link. I have tried with the help of other posters, but I just cannot do it. Please go and see what I wrote! Thanks you!!

Love and prayers,

Julie

Really Need Support

Also, alkalizeforhealth.net is a great site.

 AND.....

Sherry Rogers, MD has great books. If you get really serious you'll learn about the coffee enemas. She explains them well. Yes, coffee up your butt....it's to detox.  That's really weird and gross I know, but it helps to heal the body faster. Especially since your mom's liver isn't well. Don't go by me, I am not a doctor.  I can share what books are good and where to go. Get expert advice before you attempt anything.  Sherry Rogers has an office near Buffalo NY I think. She does phone consultations too.

Really Need Support

My mom also has mets and that's why I am a poster here too. I have such a great library of alternative treatment books. I will recommend 3 books for you. Bill Henderson has a new updated edition of his book,  Cancer Free.  He has a great website too. If you buy his book, read it first, he will talk to you and your mom on the phone and coach you through the bests alternative therapies.  I stink at posting links as you can see from my previous posts, so I won't even try. Anther book I highly recommend, is Ty Bollinger's, Cancer Step Outside the Box. He and Bill endorse each other. It's very easy reading and packed with so much information. The last book is, With the Help of Our Friends From France: Stabilizing and Living with Advanced Breast Cancer, by Carol Silverander. Get the 2007 edition, it's the latest.

cancercompass? I think that's it. That's another discussion board for alternatives. Bill Henderson has one too.  Also, breastcancerchoices.org has good information.

My mom had pleural effusion from Taxotere.  She had a rare pulmonary toxicity from it. She had to get pluerodesis twice on the right lung and once on the left.

Pray if you are religious, it helps.

 Sincerely,

Julie

How do I post a link?

Dear Jelly and cp14,

I keep trying and it says I have to disable a pop up window. There's no pop ups. I will keep trying. I even wrote your instructions out and have them right by the keypad.

 Thanks so much though!

Vit D Levels - Frustrated!

What about Dr. Mercola's lamps that work like the sun? You have a choice to buy the one that makes you tan or the one that doesn't. Both make you produce vitamin D. I don't know what to believe anymore.

wood smoke...the other second hand smoke

I actually volunteer for this nonprofit group. Clean Air Revival, Inc., www.burningissues.org .

I got involved last year when our next door neighbor's chimney smoke infiltrated our home almost everyday and we all became sick. I post here because my mother has metastatic breast cancer.  I have been her caregiver for the last 2 and a half years. I had no idea wood burning produced so many toxins. I really never thought about it, and I'll even admit I used to like the way it smelled. That was until last winter. We had a terrible time with these neighbors and even though they knew my mother had metastatic breast cancer and was on oxygen ....and they witnessed the strong smell of smoke in our home...they would not stop.  They told us to get better windows and buy more air purifiers and even told us to move. They burn for ambiance, not heat. Believe me it was a nightmare. I ended up in the ER with asthma, which I had never had and suddenly I needed 2 inhaled medications. My daughter suffered 2 double ear infections with high fevers. The health department finally shut them down, but not until spring. EPA certified wood stoves are said to give off less particulate matter 2.5 but their output is more carcinogenic. They give off more dioxin for example. Google dioxin and breast cancer. This is a real eye opener, and with my heart and the best intentions I wanted to share this story.

Taxol reaction :(

You can look back on my old posts about my mother. She was on Taxotere and she developed a severe pulmonary toxicity. It's important you read all the literature about the drugs/chemotherapy. They kept her on it longer and didn't take her chest tightness/shortness of breath seriously enough. She started retaining fluid and her blood pressure went way up. She had plueral effusions on the ct scan...I don't know..... it was very poor communication between the doctors and the nurses. She had to have pleurodesis on both lungs, twice on the right lung. She has required supplemental oxygen ever since. That was summer of 2006. She had a great response to the Taxotere as far as cancer goes, but at the cost of her lungs. She needs to do breathing treatments with a nebulizer 3-4 times a day and has to use advair steroid inhaler am and pm.

You know your body best. Keep a daily journal of how you feel. Remember that darn chemo brain problem doesn't help. I wish everyone here had a good advocate. It's tough to have to rely on just yourself when you don't feel well and have so many overwhelming things going on, not to mention to just have to get everyday life responsibilities straight.

I hope this was helpful.Smile

There is a way to find out who he is.  There is a certain ID number that he has when he signed up here. That ID number can send breastcancer.org administration straight to his computer. They shouldn't delete his file until they get that ID information.

Thanks so much! I ordered 3 books from everyone suggestions here.

Which books specifically from the Stephanie Plum Series? I'd like to order some of those too, but there were a lot to choose from. You girls are the best!  Thanks again! Kiss

Also can you suggest the ones you liked by Bill Bryson and Lewis Grizzard?
