Yesterday was a hard day..Janis, When I was taking Taxol, I had a terrible time with it. I was in so much pain that I could barely walk. I told my oncologist that I had a job, and two kids to take care of, and that I couldn't function this way. He reduced my dosage. (as your dr is doing now) I cannot tell you what a difference that made for me. I hope it works for you as well. Take care, Kelly |

Well, f-it I call the surgeon.Janis, I agree with the others...in that area it's likely to be a hernia. I'm also glad to hear that others have lumps and bumps besides me. I noticed one in my upper arm after surgery 3 years ago and pressed/played with it almost everyday, (to see if it changed) I just recently asked the doctor about it. He said nothing to worry about.......I hate that I hadn't asked sooner, all that time wasted worrying. Kelly |

2 years post DX and still in pain...how about you??I was diagnosed in December of '04. Had latisimus flap reconstruction, dose dense ac&t and 1 year herceptin. Now I am taking tamoxifen for 5 years. I'm so glad to know that I am not alone in my "achiness". My arm hurts (breast cancer side) if I use it too much, my knees hurt, almost everyday somewhere hurts and its been almost 3 years since surgery

Palliative/Hospice Visits this week.......What about that new treatment that is listed on the main home page here? It says it may be helpful for women who haven't responded to other treatments? Hopefully your new regimen will work, but it also means there is always something new on the horizon.

Micro MetsI had a 1mm micromet 2-1/2 years ago in the sentinel node only. The 2 other nodes were negative. My breast surgeon presented my case to a tumor board and they did not feel like full node removal was needed....I am okay with this decision.
good luck Kelly |

Positive lymph nodesYour situation sounds very similar to mine. I was originally diagnosed with DCIS. Had a sentinel node biopsy and they took out 3 nodes. At the time of surgery they told me all the nodes were clear. One week later, the found microinvasion in the breast tissue and rechecked the nodes. The found 1mm of cancer in 1 sentinel node. This ensured chemo, but after discussing my case at a tumor board they decided they would not do additional surgery to take more nodes. I had a mastectomy, reconstruction, chemo, tamoxifen and herceptin and am confident I made the right choice.
