anyone starting chemo in Nov 2005Anna - Happy Anniversaries! Deb - Sounds like Halloween is a BLAST at your house!! How fun!! ML - Loved all of the pictures! Odalys - You're my kind of boss. I LOVE pizza! Marg - Lost 30 lbs!! That's fantastic!! Continued prayers for your mom! I had a bit of a scare this week. I had my annual mammo & chest x-ray last week, and lo & behold something showed up in my lung. I actually got the results from my allergist while I was seeing him regarding a sinus infection/cold. He wanted me to get a chest x-ray and I told him that I had just had one for my annual exam. He called & got the results and told me to go directly to my oncologist's office to schedule a CT scan. So........Friday morning I had the CT scan & I got the results yesterday - no evidence of cancer! I was so excited to hear those words, that I completely forgot to ask what exactly it is they saw. I have my check-up with onco. tomorrow, so I'll ask then. Have to get ready for my one & only scheduled shift at work! Take care everyone!! LAT56 |

anyone starting chemo in Nov 2005Hello & yes, Happy Fall to everyone. Although fall is over for us here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! All of the leaves have fallen & it snowed the other day. The only good thing about winter is that there is somewhere to cool off when the hot flashes hit! And my hot flashes are still a huge problem. I've been fighting a cold/sinus infection for days and finally had to go to the doctor's. (All of my yearly tests are coming up and I could NOT imagine having a coughing spell while getting a mammogram! YIKES!!) I miss out on so much because of the continuing fatigue & joint pain I have & now with this darn, awful cold I've missed out on some fun fall activities. Its enough to get a person depressed!! But..............I'm going to hang the rest of the Halloween decorations & bake special Halloween cupcakes for the grandsons.....and I'm just going to keep on going, darn it!!! LOL Hugs to all! You are in my thoughts & prayers LAT56 |

Still have the fatigue after 2 years.Yup, this fatigue is so hard to explain to people. No amount of rest/sleep, etc...makes it better. And you never know when its going to hit!! The doctors said exercise might help, which I have been trying to do, but the joint/muscle/bone pain is terrible. I really don't think the doctors understand. There are some days when I can not even lift my head off of the pillow. I've had to cut back my hours at work - which meant losing my full-time status and my benefits. I feel like I'm missing out on so much!! LAT56 |

anyone starting chemo in Nov 2005Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in so long! Between the play dates with the grandchildren, family & friends visiting, working, the awful pain in the legs, plus the bouts of FATIGUE, I don't seem to get on-line much any more. I've been trying to read past postings a little at a time. Sounds like everyone is very busy!

anyone starting chemo in Nov 2005Sounds like alot going on with everyone! You've all been in my thoughts and prayers!!! Thru the ups and downs of this wild ride! (I do stop in and read up on posts when my computer cooperates.) I don't have any energy these days. I've only been working 2 - 3 days and week and even that is way too much for me. I ache so bad!! My oncologist told me to stop taking the Arimidex and then see her in a couple of weeks. I also have to make an appt. to see my rhuematologist (his office is over 3 hours away). He's told me that its difficult to prescribe any meds for my ankylosing spondylitis cuz of my history of cancer. YIKES!! I am so discouraged!! Damn, damn, damn cancer. Damn arthritis. I feel like crap. Plus, my 32 year old son had a grand mal seizure a couple of weeks ago. His second one in 8 years. He can't drive until further notice, so I've been trying to help out. Lots of doctor appts. and tests to get to. Sorry that I haven't been here in forever and then when I do show up I'm so "down in the dumps". Thanks for being here!!!!!! LAT56 |

anyone starting chemo in Nov 2005Hello everyone! I'm trying to catch up on the boards. I've been without a computer for weeks! I walked in The Susan G. Komen 5K Race for a Cure in Grand Rapids, MI. As I crossed the finish line, I said a special prayer for the gals on the Nov. 2005 board! The walk was both emotional and inspirational. Just had my 2 year check-up and things are going pretty good. I still don't feel the need for reconstruction (in fact, I like my scar!) I'm STILL having issues with fatigue and hot flashes. I started Arimidex 4 weeks ago and was hoping the hot flashes would ease but no such luck. Hugs and prayers for all. LAT56 |

Arimidex side effectsI was on tamox. for 15 months. Hot flashes & weight gain were the side effects I had the most trouble with. I've started taking Arimidex 3 1/2 weeks ago and hate to report that the hot flashes have gotten worse (although today here in the north, the temps were only in the 40's -so that helps!! LOL) I've also been experiencing terrible muscle/joint/bone pain. And I have to add insomnia to my list of troubles. Plus I'd like to mention the FATIGUE!!! I've never gained my stamina back since going thru the chemo. This is a HUGE issue to me! There is so much information to take in! I'm finding it difficult to make even the simplist decisions these days, let alone the major decisions regarding treatments. I'm so thankful to have this site. LAT56 |

anyone starting chemo in Nov 2005Hi everyone!!
My daughter's wedding was this past Saturday & it was beautiful!! The weather was perfect, the bride was gorgeous, the groom handsome, and we served over 400 people at the reception! My cheeks are still sore from smiling & laughing! Deb - Glad to hear that you love your new home & neighborhood. MaryLou - Beautiful photos of you & your grandson! Your hair is so long!! Our Relay is scheduled for June 15th. I hope the weather cooperates. Last year it was way too hot and humid!! Odalys - I have added your friend's name to my prayer list. I will also say a prayer for her family. Margerie - You are an inspiration with your weight loss. I've been trying to lose weight but with the stress of the wedding, my diet was awful & there wasn't much energy left over for walking! Plus the wedding cake was delicious!! Kim - My prayers are with you as continue your treatments. Anna - How you shared your feelings regarding the "weird node"!! You just laid it out there and put that node in its place! (Hope your little dog is doing better!) After looking at pictures from the wedding & reception, I realize that I have lost a few moments in time. I've been having problems with my memory, but I was hoping that this was such a special occasion, that my lingering "chemo brain" wouldn't cause any issues. Thank goodness we have pictures!! I am running late - have to get to work. Hugs & prayers for all, LAT56 |

anyone starting chemo in Nov 2005I was able to catch up on all of the posts today as we are in the middle of a huge snow storm - at least 2 feet of new snow so far & more on the way! Yes, its April 4th. The police have advised only emergency vehicles be on the road, so I am enjoying this day off!!
I had just spoken to my manager at work about cutting back my hours. I've been working 30-35 hours per week and its way too much - I am exhausted! This means I will loose my full-time status & benefits, so its been a difficult decision for me, but I feel its what I need to do. My work schedule is so erratic, never having 2 days off in a row and being scheduled anywhere between 5am and 10pm is difficult. (Retail) PLUS, (and this is the most important part!) my daughter is getting married next month and I want to enjoy these moments! We've had a great time making wedding & shower plans! This is going to be such a great celebration and I want to have the energy to PARTY! I bought a new digital camera and have some adorable photos of the grandchildren, just wish I knew how to put them on this message board. I have such a hard time with all of this technology! I am so inspired by the strength all of you show!! You are in my prayers! Love, LAT56 |

Extrememly cold here & lots of snow. Temps below zero!! BRRRRRRR!!! Going to have a cup of hot chocolate!! Hugs & prayers to all. LAT56 |
