Fibromyalgia - Real or Imagined?I've been reading this thread with interest as my sister in law has fibro. There has been some great advise all around regarding how to deal with fibro and it's issues. I do have to say something though. The only animosity I see is from ftaa to Amy and Blue. Calling somebody names and bashing their ability to do their chosen profession is pretty rude, imo. Bugs Dx 2/1/2006, IDC, 6cm+, Stage IIIa, Grade 3, 3/16 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

Anyone get a rash at infusion site?Janis, I am very allergic to the adhesive on bandaids and tape. The only thing that my skin can handle is paper tape. Have them use that after a blood draw or meds and see if that helps. Dx 2/1/2006, IDC, 6cm+, Stage IIIa, Grade 3, 3/16 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

tamoxifen or not?Casseddy, My periods came back after chemo, also. My onc and I decided on getting those ovaries out. Sorry..my cancer was 95% estrogen positive. I did not want any estrogen flowing through my body to give any cancer cells food. Tamoxifan is another weapon against hormone positive cancer. My opinion? Give it a chance...I have minimal side effects and the ones I do are very tolerable. Hot flashes? Yes...but not nearly as bad as chemo hot flashes. As a Stage 3'er...I am pretty leery about turning down treatment of any kind. Good luck with your decision Bugs Dx 2/1/2006, IDC, 6cm+, Stage IIIa, Grade 3, 3/16 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

How are you doing? is there anything I can do...I don't really agree that when somebody asks you what they can do to help, they mean it. The people close to you, yes. Others..well..I think they say it because it is the "polite" thing to do. These ladies are not talking about "letting go of pride" and accepting help. They are saying they are sick of being looked on as sick and in NEED of help. Let them vent...because even though we are sisters...we don't GET it like they GET it. And they pray we don't. For those that have had WBR..I have a ?Hi ladies, The mother of a friend of mine has been dx with small cell lung cancer-early stage. She will be undergoing chemo and radiation and they want to do prophalactic WBR. <<( PCI (Prophylactic Cranial Irradiation): Radiation to the head with the goal of reducing the risk of brain metastases. It is commonly recommended after successful treatment for small cell lung cancer.>> To me it just seems like a huge thing, this WBR...for a preventive measure. I have read your posts on all the SE of WBR. What can she expect with this? Long term SE? What can I tell her to expect? Thanks for your help, Bugs Dx 2/1/2006, IDC, 6cm+, Stage IIIa, Grade 3, 3/16 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

How do I respond....Instant button pusher for me. I hated it when people asked that. I would usually say "I don't know, I'm not God". If it was somebody I knew well I would tell them that "fyi, cancer patients hate that question". Dx 2/1/2006, IDC, 6cm+, Stage IIIa, Grade 3, 3/16 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

How do they know it's not mets?PET's are much more sensitive (hence the false positives) and can show mets to both bone and soft tissue. Dx 2/1/2006, IDC, 6cm+, Stage IIIa, Grade 3, 3/16 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |
