MI SurvivorsWow, I can't keep up. I'm trying to catch up on the reading but see so many new names. Welcome to the Michigan group. I tried to get out to Livonia to cheer Susie and Maureen but didn't make it. I hope Susie sends us the link to those pictures. I'd like to hear more about it. DCJoslin - we're practically neighbors. I hope everyone is well and think about all of you even if I don't get to post as much. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts! xxxooo Nancy Dx 2/28/2003, Stage II, Grade 3, 1/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

MI Survivorsfaith - crossing everything for Sarah. Please keep us posted. Irene - You can see I had a problem also. All the extra html tags show up and if I delete them, I remove the whole pic. Also, the picture copies twice and I have to edit it to remove one. I never was able to post pics of our last get-together. I have a nice picture of an empty slide when Neesie was sliding down it. My camera is slow! I'll try to post a few more tonight. xxxooo Nancy Dx 2/28/2003, Stage II, Grade 3, 1/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

MI SurvivorsLove the sign Judy! I'll wear my bopper if you do. No Wendy, you cannot step on anyone's toes since we work best as a Team and everyone is jumping in and helping out. You will see what a great group we have! This is our first picnic but I can see this is going to be a blast. You guys have everything covered. Not-Me - my DH is not coming but your's always seems comfortable with us "girls". He should join us. Winggirl2, is Mr. Wings coming? Are they worried about being the only guys? Too bad Kats and Mr. Kats live so far. Faith and Mr. F, where are you, on vacation? I could talk mine into joining us but I think he is relieved to stay home. I vote for caramel apple salad Neesie. The snacks sound good Judy. I don't think we are forgetting anything, are we? This is going to be a feast. Pat - hope to see you and don't forget the grandbaby pics! Irene, bringing your camera? I'll bring mine if I can stay out of the pics. Susie, you do have to rest up for the race and re-fuel. Nessie and Wings got that right - you need the carbs. We may need to walk a bit with you to walk offf some of this food. Do we need direction listed again? It still looks like a good weather forcast. See ya soon! I'm looking forward to meeting the newbies and catching up with the oldies! Details:

MI SurvivorsI'm looking forward to Sunday also! Hey, if you guys are not up to making something, just bring yourselves! The menu is just a suggestion and it looks like we have plenty to pig out on. If anyone wants a hitch, send me a private message. I'm coming from the Westside and can easily stop at any major spot for a pick-up. Hi Lori. Sorry to hear about your new health issues. You better catch us next time we get-together! I think I still have Judy's Wings nametags from the Race. I'll bring them or find something. xxxooo Nancy Dx 2/28/2003, Stage II, Grade 3, 1/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

MI SurvivorsWe are all set! Thanks so much for doing the leg-work rockysmom - Judy! The "east boat launch and fishing piers" sounds perfect and easy to find.
How about noon so we are sure to get our spot? Are there picnic tables there? I can bring some tablecloths and some of those food canopies to keep the bugs out. I have two chairs that fit in the car so I have an extra for someone. If anyone wants a ride or would like my cell phone number, send me a private message. I only went back a page or so, but I think these are who responded that they were interested in meeting and food suggestions.... ICanDoThis - Sue, tortellini salad kinde5069 - Toni (hasn't checked-in, next chemo 8/11?)

MI SurvivorsHi Everyone, About the picnic - we always say the more the merrier! Pass the word. Are your DH's coming? Sounds like we have a great menu going. About desert, can you ever have enough? I'll bring whip cream for the fruit so that covers our dairy and antioxidants. Chris has protein covered with dogs and brahts. Oreo thing would be adding some chocolate for more flavonoids and anti-depressants. It's a metro park so it probably costs $4.00 per car to get in unless you have a season sticker for $20.00 a year or $12.00 a year for seniors. I have a sticker on my "dog mobile" which I probably won't bring if anyone else wants a lift! Wendy - you said you had your surgery and that was the TUG, right? So glad to hear it went well. Wishing the best for those going through treatment. I 'm sick about DebC. I'll get a card out to her pronto. Nancy Dx 2/28/2003, Stage II, Grade 3, 1/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

MI SurvivorsRockysmom: Thanks for checking this out. I'm with neesie - pick a place for us that you like and we will be there! No, a pavilion will not be necessary.
Wendy, the canopy sounds like a nice idea. I'll help assemble. Good luck with your surgery on the 4th. I have a rolling cooler so I was thinking of bringing a big fruit salad or something that needs moderate cooling. I am not handy in the kitchen but have a few thing I can make that are fool-proof. I'm open for suggestions if you want to go with an alphabet idea. If you need a ride, I'm coming from the West side and we could meet around 275 or I can pick you up. But, I don't think the canopy will fit in my little Yaris. If anyone needs a ride, give me a yell, Kinde5069? How many people are coming? Wings - We'll bail you out if the Rangers come after ya! Rockysmom - Check your snail mail. I sent you the New Balance certificates for your fundraising. They sent them to me since you gave your big contribution to the Team. You should get them instead. Chris - How was your reunion? A co-worker had a family reunion the same weekend. Mary6204 - How did chemo go? Are you up to meeting us? neesie - One of my best friends lives around 16 and VanDyke in a condo. Wouldn't it be a hoot if your DD was a neighbor? Looking forward to seeing you guys soon! xxxooo Dx 2/28/2003, Stage II, Grade 3, 1/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

MI SurvivorsHi Everyone. Iris, let us know when you are in Michigan and we will plan a get-together. Has anyone visited Huron Meadows Metro Park in Brighton? http://www.metroparks.com/parks/pk_huron_meadows.php# I have never been there but the Kensington map makes the place look huge and I don't have a clue about where to meet. Huron Meadows has paddle boat rentals which sounds like fun. It looks small so it may be packed. Any suggestions? Hudson Mills is in Dexter if you want to consider there. MI SurvivorsThe 24th looks like a good date for most of us, right? Let's pick a place. Anyone familiar with Kensington Park? I could get us around Hudson Mills but that might be a long haul for most of you. Maybe we can find a map online for Kensington. I'll look around and get back here soon. MI SurvivorsWeren't Geri and ConnieSue signing a card at one of the get-togethers and noticed the family names and found out they were related? It's a small world. No, I'm not going to a family reunion. It's an "all classes - school reunion". The big event is on Saturday and smaller groups are meeting again on Sunday. DH and I went to the same high school and have been together since we were "babies". Have fun at your family reunion, Not-Me! I wish we were related. You have a nice family! Mine is another story. That is so sweet about your daughter and fiance. Is it looking like August 24th is a good day? I'm in for helping out at Kay's if she wants us. Anyone familiar with the Fenton area? xxxooo Nancy

MI SurvivorsYou guys! That weekend is not the best for me since we have a reunion on both days. I'd still meet you on either day but it would be spreading myself thin. What about 8/24???? Yes, we are adopting Iris! She is a sweetheart. We have met wonderful friends from outside of Michigan. Kats - IL, Jon - OH, Faith - OH, Iris - NC, Deb - Alaska!! Welcome newbies - Sorry I didn't go back and get the names. It will be nice to meet you guys. Oldies - miss all you guys!!!! I know I've been AWOL but when I come back and hear of losing more sisters, it sucker punches me. Not-me, the lighthouse work sounds like a blast. Take pictures. Faith and Pat - pconn, we need an update on your grandbabies also. xxxooo Nancy Dx 2/28/2003, Stage II, Grade 3, 1/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

MI SurvivorsWelcome Toni and Laura. Caseysmom - is Casey your dog in the avatar or your child? Ask Rockysmom who Rocky is! Toni, love the fairy. Kats - Sorry I didn't mail the stick to the butterfly. I couldn't figure out a nice way to do it so left it out. Yeah, they were heavy and I was afraid I was going to poke someone's eye out. Cute but not that great of an idea. You are right, the site does look rather sterile. But, I guess it looks more professional. Not-me - hope the infection clears up quickly for you. The only day I cannot make is 8/23 and I'm open for pot-luck or restaurant. If that is the only day that the majority can make, I'll catch you next time. Neesie - I missed the balloon fest again! Hope it was fun. Dx 2/28/2003, Stage II, Grade 3, 1/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

MI SurvivorsOh - this is new. I feel lost on this site! First - Happy belated birthday Neesie! I'm here, don't worry! Looking forward to our next get-together. Wings and Mr. Wings, So sorry to hear about your FIL. Worried in Woodhaven - Pam, welcome back and good to hear you are healthy and moving on. Congratulations on your dissertation. Chris - Yahoo on the good results but sorry you had to go through the tests and surgery. My cable has been so erratic at home and work is crazy busy. I had cable yanked because I refused to pay for a defective box. $200.00 and they say it was "damaged". How the $#@$# do you damage the box? It sits on the shelf and you point the remote at it. That would be one deadly remote, shooting off damaging rays. So, being that Charter is the cable monopoly in my area and that they control my Vonage phone, internet connection and tv (which I could do without), I had to pay! It was blackmail! They re-connected it for about a week and now it is out again. So, nothing big happening with me and all I have is the little stuff to gripe about and that is fine with me. I'd like to get-together sometime & Sunday in August works for me. I read that Janice - Fitztwins is back in the roller coaster. My heart goes out to her. I haven't written her yet. MI SurvivorsWendy - You must have read an old post because this site is one of the most active on breastcancer.org! I think we have more posts than the MOJO topic. Welcome and thank you for the introduction and details of your reconstruction here in Michigan. I am intrigued by reconstruction using thigh fat. I asked about it when I had reconstruction using implants in 2005 and know there was no-one around then who would consider it. Please keep us posted on how everything goes. I'm sorry you are back with DCIS on the other side. I know it must be quite a shock. Us Michigan chaquitas get together often and always have a blast. Stick around and meet us. We met in Novi a few times and also Brighton and Ann Arbor. Neesie was talking about meeting again soon and I'm looking forward to that. We have a pretty big group that does the Komen Race for the Cure together. We are called "Wings of Hope" if you would like to join us next year. I'll send you a PM with more info.
Rockysmom - nice pictures and thank you for thinking of us on the luminaria. Irene - nice pics again! You have a knack. How is everyone doing? The site is loading so slow that I gave up taking a peak at work. How about those storms. I do love the hot weather though. Hope to catch up with everyone soon. xxxooo Dx 2/28/2003, Stage II, Grade 3, 1/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

MI SurvivorsWelcome Kimbly - C'mon and join us some time. We don't bite - not too hard. Our group is from all over but we manage to get together several times a year and always have a great time.
Wings - A Popeye mouth? At least you have lips. Believe me, you look great. We need to have Susielou price lips for me. Where is Susielou? I have a few pics to post. There is a nice one of Rockysmom, Not-me and family and Skinny Carol (SC) and family. SC's mom had breast cancer but I didn't know that all her aunts on her mom's side had it and 3 died young. I suggested that SC, Maria and the other sisters get gene tested but they are afraid to do it. Maria had a funny mammogram story at Hockey Town and I was trying to remember the details of Neesie's gyn story but forgot it! We will have to save them for our next gathering. I am having a hard time posting the pics. What the heck, what changed? Dx 2/28/2003, Stage II, Grade 3, 1/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |
